We could only have 6 subs due to the homegrown rule and we have in excess of 17 players. Therefore there are going to be players who miss out. With Carlos, Slew and O’Sullivan in the 17, there is no room for Kev, and with Brewitt and Conlan (/Tanner on Saturday) on the bench yesterday, there’s no need for Jordan.

The argument about Kev trying his hardest is irrelevant. Carlos has been trying his hardest and is much better. Even Slew was better, despite his lack of fitness due to the step up from Ashton United.

Keith, I don’t get your point, we can’t just tell everyone who’s not in the squad of 17/18 players that they need to go. We need back-ups for injuries - Kev and Cranston not looking to be shipped on, but also not being on the bench, is very normal. Derek’s tried to cut the squad from 30 to the low 20s, not to 17.

If you are saying that Kev & Jordan are both fourth choice now, then why aren't they among the ones being told they can leave? That was my question.

Most of them if not all of them. It was evident in the results and performances.

RapidShrimp has you on toast there Keith. Most squads have 25ish players in but the match day squad is 18 max. We can only name 17 as we have no homegrown players. I'm with Rapid', i am not sure how you are struggling with this. If someone came in for Kev or Jordan, i am sure that they will be allowed to leave. Maybe Derek should put them both on Gumtree?

THAT IS MY POINT!!!   Do you really have to go around in circles before you agree with me? 8-)

Kevin has been a fantastic servant, and hardworking professional at our club , but unfortunately it looks like it's his turn for a dose of disrespect on here from the "unusual suspects"......

Cranston is two injuries away from being a starter at full back or in midfield. And we only need Carlos to get injured and Kev’s on the bench. If they want to leave, that’s their choice, but Derek obviously regards them as good enough to fill in for the odd game here and there. Both Kev and Jordan are 3rd choice for their positions, but one injury could very well get them on the bench.

Hawley, Miller and Lewis were allowed to leave because we’ve got options up top (A-Jay, Slew, Cole, even Kev - plus a new signing?) so they were barely ever going to get a game even with injuries. Same goes for Bakare, Lynch and Brownsword.

It's quite simple, lets say we have a squad of 22 players.

11 of them will start the game
7 of them will be named on the bench
4 of them won't be in the squad

Kev and Jordan have been in the 4 that don't get named in the match day squad the past two games. This doesn't mean that Derek wants rid of them or that they are surplus to requirements, they could quite easily be back on the bench next week and someone else is left out.

You can't just tell everyone that doesn't make the match day 18 that they can leave, we need more than just 18 players!

Have they officially left then, or just given permission to find new clubs?

Miller already has a Club, so it's up to Moose at the end of the day, he will know that his player isn't featuring in the first team

Yes m1, probably based on his season so far, a new club will probably become his option? Can’t see that he will be in Crewe’s plans?

Slew is better then Kev, really?

Give an attribute that Kev is clearly better than Slew in. Slew has played 120 minutes and hasn’t looked out of place at this level. Yes, he was a decently large part of why we conceded the goal on Tuesday, but at least he tried to get back and block the cross.

No, you’re missing the point completely. The debate (that seems to have blown way out of proportion) is that Derek doesn’t want to just decimate the squad, leaving only 18 players.

I’m not making the same point for the third time, and others have made the same point multiple times as well.
