Great shots, and memories.
It just highlights the grandeur of the North Stand, and also exposes the poor replacement of the home end at the Globe.
There is no going back, I understand, however the North Stand was an almost identical structure to the Danebank terrace built by Northwick Victoria at The Drill Field.
When they went bust and reformed, it was dismantled and rebuilt at their new ground.
When the reformed club went bang, Vics sold the stand to FC United of Manchester, who dismantled it and re erected it at Broadhurst Park.
So it’s in its third home. Yet we were told it couldn’t be done cost effectively???
Just saying. :D

Wonderful times, loved that stand and had great banter with the folk I stood with every home game, shame it wasn't part of the move.

Apparently, despite the outward similarity, the manner of construction was entirely different. The North Stand involved more poured concrete I think (or something like that) which made dismantling it not cost effective. I was told that it was seriously examined.

So how did that work out then?

Yes, that was some evening.

Of course not everybody was excited and full of the thrill of the event.

I left it a respectful period of time so as not to hijack the thread! Anyway, you know you love it! :D
