Christian Mbulu (RIP)

Postby Keith » Tue May 26, 2020 8:02 pm

Just hearing the awful news that Christian died earlier today, aged just 23. No news yet as to whether he'd been ill or if it was an accident? Regardless, it is horrible news. Condolences to his family & friends.

Such a young life to be taken so early. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

Remember Christian saying in an interview that he would stay behind after normal training to get fit. Total dedication to his sport.

RIP young man.

According to the latest from our Captain Sam the run / walk is on Friday 12 June, not Friday 5 June.

Anybody a clue as to where our guys are running /walking to?

Starts at the Globe but does it finish there after doing a 34km /21miles circuit around the area... :?: :?: :?:

Correct, yes Friday 12th, surprised I got the day right to be honest, some normality is very much to look forward to.

Well done to all concerned on this

Re: Christian Mbulu (RIP) CANCELLED

Because of the problems associated with the virus the event has had to be cancelled.

However the club and players will do something to provide financial support to his daughter in due course.

Sorry to ask but are the Trust involved in any collecting for this cause?

There was no mention of the Trust doing fundraising in their last newsletter, just that they had laid some flowers at the Globe on hearing of his passing.
The GoFundMe page (that Sam Lavelle linked to when he announced the walk/run) is hosted by Dominic Yarwood, who I think was Christian's agent. It is currently at over £22,000.

I saw on Facebook that Crewe are going to send Christian's family a promotion medal which is really nice of them. Well done Crewe.
