Maybe if the I Follow money all goes to the home club it could be viable.

Sickening to think, this of all season's would have been a real money spinner with potential away followings of nearby clubs.

Would have been Gala Draw tonight, 180 people at £80 a head with drinks, draw entries at £100 a pop, no raffle and no shirt sponsorship board.
A massive loss of income today

Not going to be easy but right now some income is better than no income.

With regards to the Gala Draw the club could have organised something. Seems to be very little activity to generate an income since lockdown. To survive any business needs to think outside the box.

As and when the new season starts I think we ALL with have to accept that attending the Globe to support our lads will involve major changes off the field that until the virus is beaten (?) will affect us all.

It’s fine saying the club could be doing something, but ALL staff are furloughed and with no end in sight, why would we bring back all the off field staff with no income guaranteed? Just a thought!

From 1 July, staff can be brought back and paid on part time/temporary basis, and still be on furlough for their usual hours they don't work, so something is possible.

I'd also hope the Board will be watching the situations with pubs and restaurants carefully, as The Globe should be in a good position to re-open the bar and/or function rooms on a social distancing basis, even if not football related events, but maybe more generally. The rooms are a lot more spacious than many pubs/restaurants that are having to stay closed so if demand is there, the club could really take a good share of people who want to go out to drink/eat. It seems such a waste that the function rooms are left empty when they were supposed to be the golden egg for the club after the move and appear ideal for socially distanced drinking/eating.

Not all staff have been furloughed but understand why the club will maximise the scheme while it can.

Perhaps there's still plans for a gala draw event once the season is officially announced?

Dear All,

Thanks to all for your positivity and support throughout the toughest time in the club's history.

I would like to reassure you all that throughout this period, the board and the commercial department have been working very hard to secure a bright future for the club, staff, players and fans. Not just commercially, but structurally and to ensure when the coming season arrives, we are in as strong a position as possible.

I would like to think that with the current board and team in place, we have an excellent mix of skills and experience to be able to implement creative and "out of the box" ideas. That said, we welcome feedback and thoughts from all, so feel free to suggest anything you deem appropriate and we will consider it.

We have a number of announcements to make in the coming days and weeks that we are really excited about. Watch this space!

If you have any questions or queries, please contact me or any other board director or Martin Thomas.

Up the Shrimps!!

Regards
Charlie Appleyard

Hi Charlie just an idea as Ken mentioned the size of the rooms in the Globe could easily accommodate a decent number of people and still keep to the social distancing rules , so why don't we have a Saturday where we can try and create something that we have all missed out on , which is the end of season presentation and also the Gala draw , you could also make those announcements you mentioned . Obviously i know it wont be the same as some players have left and the atmosphere wouldn't quite be the same but im sure there would be enough interest to make a few quid for the club through food & drink and a few good raffle prizes . Thoughts.

Maybe wearing face masks as now instructed for shopping etc will become a requirement for all Stadia visits.

If it means getting back to watching live games particularly at The Globe....then no problem.

:) :) :)

In which case come on MFC get them on the merchandise list , I'm sure a reusable/washable red one with small club emblem on it would sell very well . This thing ain't going away for a while yet !!!

Was only saying that to my Son in Law on Sunday...

You can bet that Premiership clubs will be on it......so let's be one of the first in EFL1 and 2 to go for it... :) :) :)

Just a pity that they are not in RED.....but at least our club is being proactive and reacting to the virus.

There is a limited number and the pre-orders mean they are going to sell out fairly quickly.

I paid and ordered mine.
