Good start. Team still gelling and we didn't get much away from home under DA last season so good to progress. Not blaming DA like, he needs time to put his mark on it , but we were far better at home last season under him, so like I say great to progress. Nice to be in the live draw tomoz on SKY. Think they are doing two rounds at once? Man U in round three anyone?

The second and third round draws are together after the lunchtime kick off at 12.00. About 1.45 for a guess

So what happens, if we somewhere along the draw we are due to meet Newcastle or Burnley? Suppose our loan players will have to sit those ties out ?

It looks like the Grimsby Groundsman must still be in furlough.

Not necessarily. It would depend upon the terms of the loan. Neither club would reasonably expect to play us, and if we do draw them, their managers may actually be happy to see their players 'live' in a competitive match?

So I was unable to buy/watch the game Saturday,
how did we play ?
New lads look ok ?
Did slew manage to lay the ball off and go for the return ?
Was Dave controlling midfield, by all accounts we looked better when Alex Cameron

Played pretty well at times. A bit shaky defensively down the flanks, but solid at CB. Thought when we got it down and played on the deck we looked good, but generally hit the ball long too early and lacked a bit of composure at times.

Davis excellent, NKP had a good game too. Turner had little to do until the shootout but looked assured, and then some great penalty saves. Mellor good going forward, decent at the back but a bit of a howler for their goal. Wasn't that convinced by Hendrie, particularly defensively, but made some decent runs forward. Pringle looked good and pulled strings in attack when he came on, and McAlinden looked like he could offer something - decent left foot on him it looked like.

Slew was pretty anonymous generally. Didn't really do anything wrong, but then again wasn't really doing much.

Diagouraga looked a bit rusty, but knocked a few nice passes around. Kenyon coming on gave us an extra man in midfield which helped sure things up. He also looked super good when he came on. Mopped things up really nicely, positioning was on it and he was super composed on the ball which is something he's lacked over recent years.

Yes, just needs to polish up his penalty taking skills

It was right out of the Chris Waddle Penalty Handbook!

I thought both Kenyon & Pringle both improved the side when they came on. Carlos was so close to playing fantastic balls but didn't quite, although the one for Cole, on the replay, it perhaps looked more like Carlos was simply thinking quicker that Cole, rather than over hitting the through ball? Hopefully, that final ball will click sooner rather than later as he was otherwise excellent.
