Thought that was one hell of a game! Some real ups and downs, definitely 'one for the neutral'.
Thought we were the better side in the first half. Barring that free kick in the first min or two, we had pretty much all of the chances. Should really have scored before Carlos got in, but I suppose we made up for it by going ahead with a 'low xG' strike from Hendrie (for those partial to a bit of xG).
Second half was a similar story for the season - showing zero composure on the ball and getting ourselves pinned in, making an equaliser pretty inevitable and deserved for Exeter who were very good with Nicky Law on. Thought the Diagouraga sub was a good one and swung the game back in our favour for the last 10 mins or so. We weren't lacking defensive cojones or anything like that, just needed more quality on the ball to get ourselves more of a foothold in the game.
Could have maybe sneaked an equaliser at the end, but then they very nearly got in with the final action of the game so can't complain too much!
I think overall a draw was just about a fair enough result. When Exeter switched it on in the second half, thought they were the best side I've seen in L2 this season - they had lots of possession and were super effective with it, attacking in a direct way on the deck.
Overall, pretty happy with a point from that. We've now played every side above us in the table aside from Newport and from that we've won two, drawn one and lost four. We've had a tough start!
