Watching Sunday's game outside the UK

Watching Sunday's game outside the UK

Postby tim-sanchez » Mon Nov 02, 2020 2:49 pm

Our game on Sunday is on BBC & BT's online platforms, which is great for those of us in the UK but not so great for those of us outside the UK who can't get iFollow video.

You should still be able to access the BBC free of charge, there are instructions here.

First step is to download & install a VPN, I personally use Windscribe who offer a free trial.

Next step is to turn on the VPN and select the UK as the country of choice.

Then, go to the BBC, click on iPlayer and register for an account.

I'd recommend testing this out before Sunday to make sure it's working, just try watching BBC One to see if it works. If it doesn't, you've got a few days still to try and fix it.

Tim, I will point our abroad fans to this thread during the game tomorrow night if that’s ok.
Thanks for sorting, very useful.

No problem at all.

If people test it before Sunday and find any issues, let me know and hopefully we can sort it before then.

I have VPN and I can watch BBC I Player in Spain. When I try BBC Sport app it will not play video.
Tried different servers including one dedicated to BBC and still no good. Will just have to follow the text commentary. Frustrating!!

If you can get iPlayer why not watch via that instead of the sport app?

Sorry only just seen your reply. I couldn’t find the match on iPlayer, must have been looking in the wrong place. I did find out a bit later that it would play on my phone using roaming data! I don’t know why as I didn’t have a VPN on. Thanks for your reply.

If they have the same again in the next round... Did you try the direct link that was posted in another thread? I couldn't find it on iPlayer or the 'Red Button', but watched it on the computer via the link. You mat need a VPN for that, but it worked for 'Castaway' in Peru.

So how did that work out then?

I searched sport in the categories tab.
