Not sure about his claim of fine margins and buying free kicks etc is entirely valid. We had 21 shots with 12 on target, compared to six shots for them with one on target. I thought they acquitted themselves well and weren't rolled over, but the game was only 1-0 because we couldn't finish our dinner!

Would be surprised if Turner touched the ball more than a dozen times throughout the game. Probably his easiest game for us since he came. Had to make only a couple of saves of note....one their only chance to score early in the game and the other was to catch a corner under his crossbar in the second, other than that hard to remember any sign of danger for him.

However we must be more clinical in front of goal and take the opportunities when there.

Hus comments beggar belief 'know how to win free kicks in important area' only cause his njggly team kept giving them away.we were much better than them and should have scored more

Quite the opposite for me.

Admitted he didn't let the game flow but was quick to pull them up for fouls or dangerous play. For once we had a ref who seemed to favour us being the league club, Often in the past when as a non league club playing a league club decisions have gone against us.....

I thought the Ref was decent. He only stopped the game so often because Maldon were trying to spoil the game with their tactics. They were lucky not to pick up cards but it was good to see a Ref punishing the niggly fouls that they were committing. Their centre half kicked anybody who came within 5 yards of him.
