Ejections?

Saw a fair bit of trouble at game today..though not as much as some feared.

Does anybody know why Bradford folk were ejected from Car Wash and (uniqely from MAIN stand)? Two friends of mine arrived 30 mins late due to crashes on M6. At least these 2 numpties made a bit more space for my 'Bradford buddies'

Seeing such a high police presence rather lets us see the other side of football. Glad it's not a regular occurence with the large majority of away fans being decent folk.

I'm not sure if this is right for them main standers, but from what I saw in the North Stand they walked into the Morecambe fans just below where Mark S was situated then the stewards cornered them off? It's just what I saw?

Here is a thought as it was a bank holiday and the police were prob on double time at least did we actually wake a profit from the extra fans in the car wash?

The majority of Bradford fans were and have always been fantastic, even the ones in the Morecambe section of the main stand, when their team scored they celebrated their teams goal ( and why not) and then sat down apart from the two idiots by the press box, clearly intoxicated and inviting everyone who asked them to sit to "come and have a go". Our stewards were unbelievably polite towards these two guys who were just complete tossers in my opinion and i'm pleased to say that despite being offered a place in the away stand just continued to kick off and were eventually thrown out by the police, two great results in one day

Spot on. The way they were acting towards the lad and his dad was disgraceful. That is why I called the stewards.

There was an amusing part when the older guy (the thug) tried to tell the steward (who as PP says was very professional) he was local and made the schoolboy error of stating he was from Hay-sham

there was a group of about 15 Bratfud fans in the car-wash stand near the north stand trying to provoke Morecambe fans, but they would have run off, just kiddies anyway

There were 3 young lads near us in the NS that were almost certainly Bradford fans but just enjoyed the match and there's no reason why it shouldn't happen really; as long as there is no intent to cause trouble. They didn't cheer our goals or their own and wore no colours.
There was a woman in the club shop saying some Bradford fans were buying Morecambe shirts so they could get in the NS - I find that hard to believe ? Who hasn't found themselves in the wrong part of a ground though ? ; either by accident or design ? In a previous life I've watched L/Pool in the opponents end up & down the country and although its not ideal it was the only way to get in.
It shouldn't necessarily lead to ejections and you abide by the unwritten rules of not cheering your own team - keep your head down and gob shut and enjoy the match. I certainly would not rumble any opposing fans unless they were being deliberately provacative.

Totally disagree!

They were given the option to move to the Bradford section but continued to be abusive towards everybody as they eventually, with some persuasion, moved off towards the Bradford section. The smirk on their faces as they passed us at the rear of the main stand was clear for all to see that they had no intention of heeding the warning. It predictably 'kicked off' and left the stewards no option other than to physically remove them from the ground. I thought the steward who did the eviction was very professional in his role and was a credit to Lingwood Security.

Fairly sure Lancs Police (unlike some other areas) have a ceiling charge of around £4,000 for all games, inc games at Burnley, Blackburn, Preston etc'. They also only charge for the number of officers actually in the stadium (not those outside). Therefore the fans in the car wash should have more than covered the policing costs.

Bradford fans in general seem a decent passionate bunch. They nearly all seemed to applaud the Morecambe Ladies Cup Winners which was nice to see. However as with the majority of these 'big' clubs they always will have a few idiots who can easily tar the reputation of the majority. Like the idiots performing in the main stand there were also some Hoolie types on Lancaster Road afterwards who couldn't take defeat so in the absence of any opposition of the same ilk as themselves decided to start threatening some young Morecambe fans who were minding their own business. The description immature pr**cks springs to mind!

Can't see Bradford going up with that team so it looks like another 'cup final' for us next season

Yeh I saw some Bradford fans snapping up MFC tops for £9.99. Mind you they were wearing Brdaford ones so I don't think their intention was to 'sneak in'
I don't have a prob with away fans in the North Stand as long as they are sensible and not provocative. I'm sure we all remember the non league days where a pocket of away fans bantered with the home support.

By the way I spoke to one of the Main Stand stewards this morning and he was highly impressed with the actions of the Lingwood people who got rid of the idiots who caused yesterdays trouble.

I hope they were diferent stewards to the ones i saw in action at the Blackburn - Celtic UEFA cup tie at Ewood Park a few years ago.

When Larsson scored what looked like a family of Celtic fans (Mum, Dad and about a 10 year old boy) sat near us jumped in the air. Some knobhead sat behind them took a couple of swings at the dad only for the stewards to eject the family and leave the knobhead sat there.

I wrote to the club giving the seat number of the knobhead and they replied saying they would look into it and someone from the club would meet me at one of Blackburn's reserve matches at Christie to discuss it. That never happened

I noticed that the police videoed the two morons before the left the main stand wonder if this will result in a banning order. Hopefully it will as there is no place for that kind of loutish behaviour from people of an age that should know better.
