Somewhere there is an interview where their manager has a real pop at DA for not having a clue and that he (Wellens) was a far better footballer than DA, just wish I could remember how I found it last night......
:( :( :(

Read the last few paragraphs of this interview..... :o

I think long-term Adams is picking the wrong fight here given Salford resources (the little old Morecambe in me!), but you still love to see it all the same. Something has obviously riled/fired up Derek on the touchline IMO - other than purely the 'game management' from the Ammies (are they still called that, or have they sold of that to Vimto as well?) at the end.

I actually 100% agree with what Derek said - "we should not have lost that game" paraphrased to "Salford didn't deserve to win". This is not the question Wellens answered, because his team did not deserve to win. He actually was complimentary about our start in an earlier interview.

The bit about Wellens having had a better playing career than Adams is subjective, and completely irrelevant to Adams point.
Hello! Hello! We are the Morecambe boys!

:o

He said: “I was a better player than Derek Adams so I’d like to think that I know a little bit about football. I don think he needs to come out and say that. Do I think they deserved to win? No, because I can’t remember the goalkeeper making a save"

It's a very bizarre response from Wellens, I think it's caught him a bit off guard.

Wellens was also a better player than Marcelo Bielsa and Jose Mourinho, but I know who I'd rather be going to for insight on footballing knowledge...

I loved DA’s passion, but he was a little naughty claiming that they didn’t have a clue. It stands that Ash Hunter is on daft money and was the difference, which was mentioned in our commentary, this doesn’t mean we are still small minded or thinking low, from me, it’s a fact worth talking about and was mentioned by a couple of people in texts so was discussed.
So please don’t post like that’s our attitude, which is far from the truth, naughty Marky!!

I generally despise Salford and FGR, as they are vanity projects for rich people, playthings to be toyed with until they get bored. Would I be happy if we could compete money wise? Possibly so, be nice to have a chance.
But money doesn’t buy you history and class and dignity, but after last night, we didnt have much left after losing!!
Onwards to Solihull!!

Blackpool , Oldham , Doncaster , Leicester , Shrewsbury , Macclesfield. It hardly makes him Messi class.

Great players don't always make great managers and vica versa some average players do make great managers.

I'm all for Derek winding up other Managers and clubs. Wellens is employed by his mates at a club which should walk this league. He had a half decent lower league career but I'm not sure what that has to do with anything. We have been almost apologetic for even daring to be in the football league in the past so to hear our Manager verbally flicking the V's at these clubs is a shot in the arm. I hope he rides in to the next game on horseback with a St Andrews cross painted on his face this Saturday!

Agree, nice to see some passion.
As for the daft sod saying He didn’t remember a shot on target, the stupid boy has Alzheimer’s then, as the keeper made a worldy save out for a corner at full stretch and then the centre back cleared off the line, but apparently they wouldn’t have counted!! :D
