Phillips does this a lot. He is never in games. Hard to knock our most potent goal threat and clearly a talent but I think he’s lazy.

Phillips definitely comes across as a luxury player. When we're dominating games he's everywhere, and obviously if he bags a goal or an assist you can forgive his struggles elsewhere.

In a game like this though where we sorely need a player to get their foot on the ball and dictate the game, he's not that player at all. I was posting about it before and everyone disagreed with me, but I don't think we can afford to play Wildig and Phillips, especially with CMG who I think is also a bit lightweight. When the game's going against you, they're not the players to grab it by the scruff of the neck and turn it around.

Brilliant ball from Phillips there.

They're easily the best team still. They're running flat out in midfield and we're just cruising.

Brilliant response from the keyboard warrior. Don’t worry, if we do lose I’m sure we’ll have a great post match interview from the manager and you can go to bed with a hard on.

Personally I’m still confident we can win, I can just think that without the embarrassing rhetoric you come out with.

Agreed. Hopefully a good talking to and we can come out a different side. We’ve got the best players on the pitch so it’s time to start showing it.

Better last 10 but the majority of that half we weren’t even 2nd best we were 3rd best! If the score was 3 nil at half time we couldn’t of complained! Songo has had a shocker and as someone else posted where is our midfield?!! We get the ball in our own half they put pressure on us they get it in the middle of the park and there’s zero pressure on them! Really shocking half of football from us!

Funny how we started to look more threatening once we remembered it’s called ‘football’ and stopped the aimless hoofs and attempts at head tennis...

With our woeful home record and goals against it's not a shock we are losing and it would not be a shock if we lost

Who would you sub?

In order of preference, but any one or two...

1. Phillips
2. Wildig
3. Mendes-Gomes
4. Slew.

Turner injured?

Hendrie for Slew was it? Sounds like a change in formation, lets hope it has the right effect.

Didn't notice Turner take an injury, that's a big loss of confidence if you sub your goalkeeper at half-time

It's a huge decision if he isn't injured. Can't see Newcastle being happy.

Would be a fairytale if AJ came on and grabbed a goal.

McAlinden must be back as well?

Seen a few posts like this over the last few weeks, almost as if Alex is becoming the new Flemmo.

Just interested in what you think Alex would offer that the others don't and how he would change this game and the others played?
