Minimum of £250k, with a split of a further £15m based on lost gate revenue. I wonder if this will take into account clubs that can have fans back vs those that can't?

£20m "monitored grant", which would place us under transfer/wage restrictions otherwise we'd need to repay it.

I'm wondering if some of the bigger clubs who stretch themselves to far will need to use the grants and then they might not be able to sign players in January which could work to our advantage.

Good news obviously, especially as this is grant money for Leagues One and Two (actual funding) rather than interest free loans, which is the case for the championship...... although it sounds like, as the club with the lowest attendances, the Shrimps might not be getting the same as others.

Seems a bit perverse to allocate this grant based on attendances - the solidarity payment isn't done so on this basis. Every clubs business model is different, our clubs income is not solely reliant on gate receipts (which might be the case for other teams) but all of this non-commercial revenue has dried up.

Seeing as every club now operates to a salary cap for playing wages, a cost that although in some cases has reduced (through temporary pay decreases and prudent cuts to personnel e.g. Grimsby Town) has not disappeared. It would make sense to me, as a Morecambe fan, if they divvied it up equally between clubs at each level. in-line with the salary cap. 8-)

Sounds like we will get maybe half a million, maybe a bit more. Is that going to be enough? Possibly but I guess it depends when crowds are allowed back.

How does the article sound like we might get "maybe £500k, maybe more"? It states the minimum each league two club will receive is £250k?

Its a very rough estimate based on £15m divided by 24 but our average gates being a lot lower than the league average, so a significantly smaller share of the pot.

Second lot of £15m is between leagues one and two (48 clubs).... Including Sunderland who have average attendances of 30k. There's nothing in the atricle that suggests we'll get a anything from the calculated share of £15m, only that we'll receive a minimum £250k?

Oh I see. I must admit I haven't read the article yet, only Tim's post at the top. It therefore doesn't sound like we will then get much over £250,000. Not surprising though as we must have some of the lowest overheads in the league.

I guess it really isn't going to be enough to plug the hole but I guess every club is going to struggle. The club certainly needs some additional revenue streams. Are they currently doing anything to promote live streaming for example?

I wonder which clubs won't be applying for the monitored grant?
