Just watched a full replay of yesterdays win at Colchester and a number of things impressed me regarding the players reactions and instructions during the game and at the end.
For me Mark H has always appeared to be a quiet and lacking in emotion during his time with us. Yesterday he looked a lot happier than for last season even under JB and his reaction along with the other players at the final whistle showed joy and satisfaction in a job well done.
Anther observation was how the players collectively were giving instructions to each other whenever Colchester had possession or had a dead ball kick. In seasons past I've felt that players didn't want to take responsibility and didn't help each other.
When DA came i was concerned that team spirit and togetherness would diminish but the way that they all congratulated each other and received the on field plaudit of DA at the final whistle speaks volumes for how much togetherness and team spirit is fostered amongst the entire squad.
Maybe it's the fact as was pointed out during the Post Match Friday night show on Radio Lancashire that DA has encouraged all his players to go forward and attack but has allowed them to play their own game has altered radically how as a team we now approach each game with a winning mentality encouraged no doubt by a growing number of exemplary performances and results.
Whatever has changed attitudes...and the huge improvement particularly in Cal's play and a willingness to chase even what look like dead causes is unbelievable.... long may it continue.
COYS.....
