Class of 92: Season 3

I've just watched the first episode of Salford City's Class of 92:

A couple of interesting points mentioned so far:

- Gary Neville mentioned last season they had 6 centre backs on their books with a combined wage of 16.5k per week. That equates to £2750 per player. No shocks, but validates what we're competing with when we're in for a similar pool of players.
- Carl Piergianni was a one who they said had been a great servant, but wouldn't be at the level they needed. They had Oldham and us in for him on loan in the January transfer window and sounds like he decided on Oldham. He's definitely a defender I rate, however, we've recruited two excellent centre backs to go with Sam.

Look at Neville and co sat inside drinking while watching the game... something that is illegal according to EFL regulations right?? Might be a little thing but just shows how they not only operate above the salary cap, but above the other regulations because of their ‘legend’ status as well...

I've gotta admit, I do like Gary Neville a lot and I find him very easy to listen on football matters.... until it comes to Manchester United and Salford City. Well, still interesting to listen to but they seem to have different rules to abide to in his mind.

In previous series, there was lots of the Man United owners saying, 'we have to leave the manager to make the decisions'. Whereas now, there's no hiding that Gary Neville seems to approve everything from the signings they make to the way they play. On the surface, you'd think the managers job would be great as you have handpicked league 1 level players, yet you are restricted in the decisions you make. Ashley Hunter is far too good for league 2, as we found from his finishes at their place despite dominating them.

Without wanting to go to down the 'little old Morecambe' routine, it is a hell of an achievement that we currently sit above a club with such riches. it demonstrates the amazing work Derek has done in just a year and the club for getting an environment Derek has been able to excel in.
