I'm not normally a betting man but...

Postby Keith » Sat Dec 19, 2020 6:04 pm

Pre-season, I tried to put a bet on us for the 'handicap' league. Being a bit of a numpty, I could only work out how to put £13 on ['bet referred to drawer' or something like that if I tried to put any more on].

I logged on today to Bet365 to see an 'update' to see how far clear at the top we are, but the 'handicap' bet is closed and there isn't a 'live table'.

While there, I noticed that the bookies still overlook us. Our odds to finish in the top seven, is 6/1. Harrogate Town, in 17th are 5/1!!!

Our odds of winning outright are 66/1, longer odds than Bolton (33/1) or Port Vale (50/1). Worth an each way bet. Bizarre that we're still being ignored. Okay, I still think it is unlikely that we will be in the play offs come the end of the season, but the way we're playing, 6/1 was worth a little flutter.

Marky No.1 (or anyone else)... do you have the handicaps from the start of the season?

Do you have the whole handicap table? I know no team had more than +25 but don't know who had what?

Before the season I was very confident in DA's ability to bring us to the playoffs so I threw 150 USD at +2000 to get promoted. Just a few weeks ago for some reason the odds dropped to +2500, I threw another 100 USD on that. Now I have a total of 250 to win 5500 if our shrimps get promoted. Will make for a nice paycheck booster :D . There is still value to get promoted at +1400 but my bookie has limited my bets.

Transfer window is coming up!

if Derek can bring in a Forward to play alongside Stockton complimenting each other in a partnership, then we will be talking play-offs.

i thought McAlinden would be the answer but its like Derek doesn't fancy him.

Handicap table based on Sky: https://public.tableau.com/profile/tim. ... Dashboard1

I make it 85 points we're on, but you can type in your own handicaps on the right if it's different.

Who else felt confident back in December?

'Cash out' offered, £135 for my £30 bets. Tempting, especially as I don't normally gamble, but I think I'll see how it goes after next weekend.

I got us 66/1 £5 each way bet. No cash out available. £422.50 if we were to win the league or £87.50 for 2nd or 3rd.

Think this thread prompted me to have a look a good few months ago.

If you are wanting to try and get a cash out value, you can contact the bookies and see if you can get a manual cash out value calculated/offered. Can't always happen mind, but if you are keen to try and get a cash out value it might be possible if you contact.
