Draw was a fair result over-all. Great game of football and an excellent point. FGR were top of the league until we equalised!

The resolve this team has! Unbelievable :D

I thought we deserved to win that. Even first half, then we were well on top in the second half and had most of the play. FGR defended well though - fair play to them in that regard - and grabbed a goal with their only proper chance of the half.

Then Carlos comes in with probably the least likely goal I could imagine him getting

What a team this is, showed that we properly deserve to be right up there this season! Had more possession than FGR tonight which is quite something.

3 points off the top with a very winnable game on saturday! This squad is special. I'm getting giddy at the thought of possible promotion! COYS!

That was the sort of point that actually feels like a win. Another point picked up in injury time. If we'd lost, we'd have had a long trip home feeling like we should have got something, but now, it will all be really positive.

hmm... Newport beat Bradford tonight, so they may have got their bounce back! Three of our next four games are against teams in the top six and the other is against one of the top form sides in Harrogate. That said, the way we're playing at the moment, I reckon we could win any of those games! :D

Disagree there Keith , I think we were the better team by far . A very good game ruined by one ridiculous decision by t**t Kettle . Robbed of two points tonight !

Over the past few years we haven't received many plaudits for our play from opposition fans.

This season we are getting the odd comment about how good we are BUT reading the FGR's Fans Forum post match they are almost to a man full of praise for our performance and accept that we deserved at the very least a point and some going even further suggesting we had been the better team by far and deserved to win the game.

Judging by xG it looks like we were the far better team. And this doesn't even include when a shot wasn't taken, and we had plenty of "half" chances were a cross flashed across the six yard box.

After having time to reflect on the game, it of course feels like a missed opportunity to get another 3 points on the board, but it can’t go our way every game and we did well to ensure Forest Green didn’t widen their gap to us.

I think we were miles the better side for large proportions of the game, especially in terms of clear-cut chances created, but overall the game was very open and a good spectacle to watch. Their first came from one of Collins’ brilliant runs forward, then a lack of tight marking and not being able to stop the cross - it was a great finish from Aaron, and I wouldn’t attribute the blame solely on one person. Their second, however, was completely different - Kettle obviously comes up with a bizarre decision, but you’ve got to play with the hand you’re dealt, and we simply didn’t defend it well enough... Hendrie was extremely poor for that goal - it looked like he didn’t know Collins was right behind him!

On a more positive note, it was a brilliant touch, turn and finish from Cole that got us back on level terms, and the desire & work-rate shown by the lads to get another stoppage time goal again demonstrates the work ethic in that dressing room, and also the benefits of that tough pre-season.

We’ve got a run of 4 tough games up next, but we’ve shown in the first 34 games this season that we are more than capable of beating anyone, and even in the absence of Phillips, we’re still creating a lot of chances and finishing a lot of them off! Our PPG suggests we are on for a mid-70s points tally - which should secure a play-off positions, and there’s no reason why we aren’t able to make that happen! COYS :D

For a simple old fart like myself this is all very baffling but I can appreciate the time and effort put into creating such a 'masterpiece'..... ;)

Don't worry, I didn't create it! Put simply, xG measures the odds of every shot ending up in a goal. So on average, we "should" have scored 1.5 goals and FG should have scored 0.6. It suggests we had far better chances than them.

I used to put these graphs up during Jim's last season. Our line always looked like we had just had the life support turned off.

The graph 'suggesting' is not as good as my eyes telling me that if they had our chances and us theirs, we would have probably lost about 4-1.
We played well and if any team deserved to win it was us, but our shooting was woeful, many of the shots being skyed due to players leaning back.
'The more I practise the luckier I get' is a well known phrase. Perhaps a few games of 'Donkey' (for those old enough to know what I'm talking about) against the boys toilet wall would not have gone amiss!
