They've done very little second half, we've had plenty of the ball but nothing to show for it other than a penalty shout from their error.

if we get nothing from this game it then means we can kiss goodbye to going up automatically.

Yup, our final ball has been poor all game. No clear chances, or even half chances. Really need something out of this game or missing out on the play-offs starts to look likely.

Hate to say it, but I don't think Carlos has been involved enough. When he gets the ball he is tending to turn back, not running at the defence. But then again they would bring him down, but no penalty!

75th minute.

Shots on target:
Port Vale 2
Morecambe 1

Wonder where the problem is?

Yup. If Rangers scouts were there, his rumoured move to Ibrox won't be happening!

As quinny has just said we have been poor in the final 3rd. Makes our point against Southend look poor. Less pressure on today's game had we taken 3 points 4 or 5 teams are within striking distance of us now just outside the play off places!

Can’t see us getting anything from this !. Automatics gone and possibly the playoffs too with the other teams queueing up behind us

A bunch of bad performances out there today, but Cole has to be one of the worst. I’ve backed him all season, against very unfair criticism at times, but that performance from him was catastrophic. Everything he touched went out of play.

Didn’t deserve anything from that. Neither did Port Vale to be fair - they weren’t great either, but they got their goal and it was easy for them for the second half. Frustrating.

Genuinely hope I'm wrong but for me that's it....can't see us getting into play offs when you look who we have to play who could take our place namely Bradford in the final game of what has been an excellent season.

Bizarre isn't it? Before kick-off on Tuesday, the automatic promotion spot was completely down to us. After that rubbish today and a poor showing on Tuesday, the play-offs are almost out of our hands. Newport & Exeter can both go above us and Bradford could be two points behind us when they play us.

We really, really need to get back to winning ways on Tuesday. We're still in the mix, but I think the automatic promotion is almost beyond us now as we'd be relying on too many other sides dropping points.

Very poor in the attacking third today, as F&G mentioned a few times our final ball was just abysmal on several occasions.

That said, it wasn't exactly like Vale did a great deal either, and a draw would probably have been the fairest result. Also an absolutely atrocious decision from the referee not to give a penalty for the challenge on O'Sullivan. Baffling. Also can't believe how much of a moron he was being about the balls - suddenly deciding halfway through the game to stop players using new balls so frequently, then giving up about 20 minutes later. Idiot, should be demoted for that performance.

Not sure about that. Two poor games I agree, but next up we have two teams with little to play for in Scunthorpe and Oldham then Grimsby who look nailed on to go down. No reason why with a little tweaking we can't get 2 wins from those 3.

I think we need nine points from those next three games.

:?: Are you being serious? Granted, we’ve now had two especially frustrating performances in a row, but we’ve ultimately got the most favourable run-in (there’s no easy games in this division, but we have far more quality than those we’re about to face!). These reactionary sort of comments really do drive me up the wall. As Keith has already said, just a handful of days ago, we were looking up at the top 3!

Just shows how tight it is for play off places. Most teams hit a poor patch and we just have to hope this is a blip not a prolonged poor patch. I feel doubtful about the automatics now but we can certainly still be in the play offs.No need to cry just yet RR

I think it's going to be a struggle now to hang on to a playoff spot. A lot of good teams coming up behind us now.

Agree , sully looks like the only player that doesn’t seem to be wading through custard . The only player with true pace and a real hunger to get forward !

Depends... don't forget, they play each other too.

Tranmere play Salford, Bradford & Forest Green
FGR v Tranmere & Exeter
Newport v Carlise, Cambridge & Exeter

There are a lot of points going to be dropped around us. If we turn things around over the next three [on paper] easier games, then we will be okay. But if we've run out of steam, just before the end...

Honestly, some of the stuff i'm seeing on here, we are 5th in the league, We win our next two games and we will be right back in the mix for autos, as Keith has said, teams around us have to play each other. People moaning about the result, you're telling me that back in September, if we'd of said, This position with 6 to go? You wouldn't have taken it?
