Tomorrows Ref.

Tomorrows Ref.

Be afraid folks, be very afraid! Michael Salisbury will officiate the Oldham match.

I have only just recovered following his scandalous decision to red card Alec Kenyon for the most innocuous incident I've ever seen on a football pitch! Can't remember the opponents but it was about 2/3 seasons ago. Alec was pole axed and one of his legs went up in the air while he was prostrate on the ground in pain. I don't think he had a clue where his leg was at the time. It brushed against an opponent who promptly complained and Alec was sent off by Salisbury.

I remember it caused an outcry at the time and I'm not sure if Michael Salisbury has reffed us since. Hopefully he has calmed down a bit. I think the game in question was one of his first in the EFL so we shall see if he is now applying more rational thought processes to his game management.

You may be right BM and I am not one to criticise officials uneccesarily. It is a very difficult job! However the Salisbury clan have been particularly harsh on us in recent times. Salisbury senior Graham sent DA to the stands recently. It would be wonderful tomorrow if Salisbury junior could redress the balance and give us a fair crack of the whip!!!!!! We live in hope.

Game Alex was sent off was against Cheltenham. Awful decision and it led to Jimbo being sent to stands and fined!

I am sure he refereed a home game for us last season. I distinctly remember being shocked as he had a half decent game!!

Was the referee when we beat Macclesfield 2-0 in February 2020 and this season when we lost at home to Forest Green 2-1.

And a quick look at his stats show he seems to favour the away teams

He had a good game, which is nice to see.

So how did that work out then?

Was a fair but very open game. Notice how we didn't dive in around our penalty area to give them a free kick? They have plans up their sleeves but never got a single dangerous free kick!

Pleased to see Michael Salisbury the referee had a good game and kept his cards in his pocket. Well done ref.

Must admit I didn't even think about the ref today, which is always the sign of a good referee. Though as others have said, the game was played fairly so no big decisions to make.
