POINTS TOTAL

POINTS TOTAL

Postby shrimp in cyprus » Mon Apr 19, 2021 7:20 am

I have been trying to find what our points total was when we qualified for the League 2 playoffs last time (the one when we didn't exactly cover ourselves in glory against D&R).

I have a feeling that our total that season MIGHT have been less than the 69 we currently have. Can anybody confirm or otherwise?

Thanks.

73

Notts County won the league with 93 points. Also promoted Bournemouth (83) and Rochdale (82).
We came fourth on 73 then Rotherham (73), Aldershot (72) and Dag & Red (72).
Chesterfield (70) and Bury (69 - our current total) missed out.

Of those 9 clubs, only 4 are currently in the EFL :o

Interestingly, in that season, Grimsby were relegated.

Shows how football can change for clubs in a season or so.

Thanks Martin.

And the other comments coming as a result of your very complete answer are also very interesting. How are the mighty fallen indeed.

Leading on from which, how about "WHO WON THE FIRST FA CUP FINAL AT WEMBLEY - AND WHERE WILL THEY BE THIS SATURDAY?" ;) ;) ;)
