IMPORTANT CLUB ANNOUNCEMENT

I don’t have a problem with the team acknowledging the fans, the problem is they ( the fans) shouldn’t have been there in the first place. We were asked not to attend as fans and obeyed that instruction.
If it was all families congregating outside the ground I would have had more sympathy, but it was groups of blokes of 30 or over all obviously having had a shandy or two!! They should have known better!
There wasn’t any bother reported so fair enough. Just disappointed that our fans couldn’t do what they wanted at their own ground and yet Bolton disobeyed and got away with it. That is my issue.

Agree 100% with all of above BUT did our club inform Bolton of the request that no fans attended the Stadium OR if they did did Bolton post it on their official forum(s)...

Having just trawled through a number of articles on the Bolton FC Official site there is no mention of the request for fans not to attend. Either it was not provided OR Bolton chose to ignore the request.

Just want to forget about the whole sorry event now but what we have to realise is that we are now playing at a level where there are certain clubs who really don't give a flying f**k about our club, current national health issues or sod all else other than winning football matches by whatever means it takes. BWFC are a prime example.

IF you read the Bolton forums many stated their intentions to be there come what may. No request from us would have stopped them. Unfortunately as it transpired they were supported in their illegal actions by both BWFC players, staff and directors. So be it. If you speak to other northern clubs fans you will discover a universal dislike of their club due to incidents over the years. Congratulations BWFC you've added a few more to the list.

What I'm truly glad about is that fans weren't allowed in on Saturday. Estimates suggest 4 to 5,000 Bolton fans would have been in the town on the day, obviously many without tickets. Mayhem would have ensued and we may have been talking about more serious incidents than a few drunken idiots gobbing off outside the ground.

Would have been nice to beat them on the pitch but it wasn't to be. We live to fight another day.

Not sure it was up to our club to request Bolton fans not to attend.
As I saw it, the Morecambe board were reacting to local fans raising the possibility of cheering the team on as they arrived at the ground. With the club preparing for a possible limited attendance for a game this season, they were concerned of the consequences of such a gathering in breach of Covid rules. I assume Bolton fans had discussed a similar action which was either not picked up by the Bolton board or was ignored. Either way it would be Bolton Wanderers' responsibility to warn their own fans.

The club statement continued; “we will of course be welcoming any Exeter fans who fancy coming along, as that is okay”. More & more, I dislike that horrible once famous club.
“Britain faces a simple and inescapable choice - stability and strong Government with me, or chaos with Ed Miliband: ".

David Cameron. May 4th 2015.
So how did that work out then?
