We might need a mole inside the ground but that would make terrible mess of the pitch

Let an old man put it simply. Did last night's results help us any ?

Definitely good: FGR losing and Carlisle drawing, which means they can't catch us.

Definitely bad: Salford and Newport winning.

Probably good: Exeter winning - better GD than us but still six points behind so we're relatively safe from them. That win keeps them right in the play-off race, so they will be going all out to beat Bolton on Saturday, which is good for us.

I agree with your first comments but disagree about Exeter. A draw was better for us IMHO. They would have been even more desperate to beat Bolton then but couldn't have overtaken us.
