So no away commentary at all? I’m all for the social media boycott, but this is pretty poor - is radio classed as social media? :?:

Have to say, I agree with you. Couldn't we tap in to Derek Quinn via BBC Radio Lancashire then?
Home commentary okay.
Away commentary not okay?

Agree with all of that, very confusing decision, and shame not to at least have Quinny, but these two seem okay so far!

I took this to mean no texting in or 'interacting' with fans. No commentary is ridiculous. Wonder if Sky's games are crowd noises only? Oh... hang on...

I have it on good authority that there are two separate issues.

The lack of commentary is because Walsall, AGAIN, do not have an ISDN line for iFollow, so Freez & Glen were unable to do commentary.

The lads were unable to clarify this, because the club have asked them not to post on Social Media and they would have been posting on behalf of the club.

Thanks for the information - sounds like a total farce!

Yeah fair play to their commentators, thought they were decent! Probably could/should have done enough research to clock that we were missing 3/4 of our attacking quartet given they were from the BBC, but overall thought they made good, fair and relatively insightful observations.

Misleading title to this thread.
When I posted, the club had asked for a media blackout on Facebook and other media platforms in line with all other EFL clubs.
However, Walsall failed to provide a working ISDN line (as stipulated in the EFL rules and regs) for IFollow today, and as Quinny was doing live commentary of the whole game on a Digital Radio Lancs stream, they couldn’t broadcast to both Lancs and IFollow, so I rang Ifollow and informed them they would need to stream the home comms to both clubs.
Tbf, I also spoke with the EFL who contacted me as to the nature of the problem, and informed them of the lack of a working ISDN.
So as Keith alluded to,it was the club following the media blackout, and Walsall taking it a step further by not supplying the requisite working technology! Of course, we obeyed the media blackout, which meant we couldn’t tell anyone why we weren’t commentating!!
We will be back for the decider at the Mazuma next week, fingers crossed!

They were fair and balanced and reasonably knowledgable even though they called us Tranmere a couple of times.
I liked the comment on Yann Songo'o "He's a big unit" - yep, a chest freezer, I thought...

I'd changed the title because there was already an iFollow thread, where there were comments about the game, and before I knew why there wasn't any commentary. I explained what was going on when I was given permission to share the info.
