The day has arrived....

Postby Scouseport_Shrimp » Sat May 08, 2021 5:32 am

.....but what a way to wake up, it's absolutely bucketing it down and blowing a bit more than just a bit here in Scouseport. Looking at the BBC weather forecast for Morecambe for today it looks like wall-to-wall rain for the duration. I think the forecast for much of the country is similar.

So could postponement or games being abandoned have a hand in what happens today?

If as forecast it's like this till 16pm game could be in doubt that's a definate

It's slammed down all night in the South West and still is.I hope it is postponed as it's too much of a lottery in these conditions and it might give enough time for one or more of our injured to recover.

Would be an anti climax but playing mid week and knowing what’s required may be an advantage. Bradford wouldn’t fancy trailing back and if it was beyond us due to other results today we could set the team up with the play offs in mind.

Is pouring down here at the moment! Doubt it will get postponed though, the pitch drains well.

I reckon that all referees today will have been told that once a game starts, then it must NOT be abandoned due to the weather. That, of course, could mean playing in dangerous conditions.

My Fiancee's aunt is in town (my future aunt-in-law, is that a thing?)

I need to find a way to delay any activities they want to do until this afternoon so I can watch the match. Now taking suggestions.

Just tell them today is history in the making of Morecambe FC, isn't that reason enough? :)

So have we.....but no change as far as I know.....maybe Salford are watering their pitch plus the rain as well to gain an unfair advantage....

Pitch is fine and even the wind has dropped now, no issues.
