Got back from hols - rumours abound......

........ that the York was smashed up by Bradford fans, the doormen were beaten up, Pam the barmaid was glassed etc etc etc

What a load of old twaddle.

The Bradford fans were mainly well behaved if not boisterous (ahh...I remember when we went away with that sort of loud following) and it was only when a small group of our lads who gained a bit of dutch courage and started singing Morecambe songs. This action caused a group of Bradford lads n lasses to come into the main bar and start singing in the faces of the Morecambe lads who gave as good back. These sort of stand offs are common in the York and dont cause any trouble, I think it was the Yorkshire/Lancashire thing that raised the temperature but that was inevitable.

I made a decision to remove a group of about 30 fans from Bradford to bring calm to the situation - it worked, and the rest of the afternoon and the evening was enjoyed by all.

Pub intact, both sets of fans back to normal - no problems ;)

I was in the York that day and the atmosphere inside was fantastic. Everyone was enjoying themselves and looking forward to the game. A quick rendition of "we all hate Leeds" and we're all friends again

Look lads - I went on hols not for a frontal lobotamy and re-training ;)

We are putting out free nibbles and light bites on the bar for St George's Day on Thursday so come along and experience Bombadier - The ale of England!!! You could also book in for the £6.50 Roast Beef supper followed by Apple Pie - now THAT is a bargain.

And also many other countries as well - it's not the name, it's being English that I'm celebrating. Something we will all be doing next summer when we qualify for the World Cup.
