We now wait to see if any players follow DA.

Disappointing but certainly leaves an absolute hero. Good luck to him. Be interesting to see who comes in, in line with the club vision I'd hope for an experienced manager at this level. What about Keith Hill?

Does that mean he will take Songo’o, Diagouraga and Letheren with him while Carlos and Sam are transferred to other clubs? Disappointing he hasn’t honoured his contract

Real shame he wouldn’t stay on and build on his success. He’s been brilliant for the club and achieved such a huge amount in such a short time. No one could begrudge him wanting to move on to bigger things. Hopefully his reason for going to Bradford is the potential in the club rather than the salary.

However, no one person is bigger than a football club. The club statement is a positive one and if we can find one outstanding manager we can find another. The problem is player recruitment as we’ve only got two contracted players and one optioned. Again though Derek showed what’s possible by recruiting a squad quickly at the start of the season. There’s a lot of goodwill out there and we’ll get decent loan players and there will be plenty of hungry players looking to develop themselves.

Can’t do anything else other than be positive.

Think so. Toumani lives in Leeds, so I think he’s a certainty and Letheren uses the same agent as Adams. Would imagine at least six will go with him.

The break up of the squad is what I'm really worried about. Finding a manager close to the level of DA is hard enough - finding at least 6 or 7 players good enough to try and replace the void left is even more difficult.

Like to think I'm an optimist but if you're right Posh and at least 6 go with him I think we'd struggle in League 2 but in League 1 .......!!!!!!!!!

New manager will have a completely clean slate with only Sam and Carlos under contract. An attractive proposition for someone?

Will we will be compensated and how much? No idea how it works with managers, but a financial boost, on top of the money from TV games for play-offs etc may be rather useful in recruiting a new squad.

The problem is, we can't really sign our own out of contract players until a new manager is appointed. I'd love to see most/all our defence signed up ASAP rather than following Derek, but. that will need a new manager in place.

I do wonder, as this was such a badly kept secret, whether we already have a replacement lined up? Derek would have had to discuss with the board, being released from his contract, so we presumably have known for a while that he was going, in which case, our own search for a replacement may be quite advanced?

Good luck to him, shame he wasn't up for the challenge of keeping us in League One.

Yes Keith Hill is no mug. What people seem to forget he got Rochdale two promotions got Tranmere into a play off spot when they looked dead and buried for either an automatic promotion spot. Kept Rochdale up in league one until his years at the club came to a sticky end. Sad that Derek has gone but we move on. Sure their will be good managers out their with a good track record that will be looked at.

He resigned, so no chance, he will be a free agent for a couple of hours

So managers' contracts are different to players' in that they can leave when they want to? It is simply a fixed term contract as in any other employment? Genuine question, I've never understood how they work.

Pretty sure a few of the reports mentioned compensation being agreed. Unlikely we'll ever know exactly and how much etc.

I'm not 100% convinced our current style would have worked out hugely well in the long term in L1. Also, it's not such a bad thing that we have a lot of players out of contract. Means that whoever comes in is unlikely to have to get too bogged down shifting players he doesn't want that are taking up a wage etc.

I really hope there has been some pre-planning and that we get a new manager in extremely swiftly as it's important that they get a say in our retained list. My main worry would be that our retained list is done by those already at the club, then the new manager comes in and would have done things differently etc.

Absolutely gutted but not totally surprised.

In a way though it is the perfect way to end. Short and sweet with his place in MFC history assured. I think both parties got what they wanted and with a manager of his quality it was always going to just be a bit of a stepping stone. He might have stayed if he'd been given a decent budget. However, I think the board will be limited in what they can do, so perhaps that helped his decision.

Good luck to Rod and co getting the next manager in. No doubt we will get plenty of applicants and it would be nice to maybe see a young ex-Premiership player given a break with links to loans and maybe a bit more media that will help boost attendances.

First an apology to Posh who seems to have an inside track to things however the club have to move on.

Someone posted as to whether DA's style would succeed in EFL1 and more importantly would it bring in the fans on a regular basis. We'll never know.

And so it's the end of one regime and the start of another....ASAP...please.

Names will be thrown into the mix so for me Keith Hill would do a reasonable job BUT the Harllepool manager Dave Challinor would be an ideal manager particularly his style of play which having seen a few games under his watch is certainly attack minded and played on the deck with possession being all important. His game is one of passing which would appeal certainly to me.

Time will tell if DA can bring the results at Bratford to satisfy their fans who do get restelss if their team are not winning.

Hope the board take the time to come together and formally take stock of the lessons learned over the period of DA tenure. There should be a lot that we an carry forward under a new Manager , and an evolution rather than a total reset may pay dividends going forward. A half day with a top notch facilitator should do the job , and outputs could also support and inform a selection process?

Do you really think so, Posh?
Do you remember how everybody despised Graeme Westley when he did the same to Farnborough, taking a cache of their best players to Stevenage with him?
If that happens it will sour my feelings about the man.
