Thanks Rod for telling the fans about events and how you and your fellow BoDs will resolve the situation.

I've every confidence that as an EFL1 club the applications will come flooding in and that another gem will be found to carry the club through the coming months.

For me the most critical aspect of the situation is the number of players no longer on contract and it would seem logical that some will move on which will give the new manager a clean piece of paper to build a squad in his image.

From the interview there was no mention or even a hint that DA had been given permission to talk to Bratford in December and if no permission was given then for me that questions the integrity of DA which is surprising. We will never know but if the rumours coming out of Bratford regarding December are true then DA has gone down in my estimation. I would have expected better of him.

Rod always talks very well. Good interview and it sounds like the club are on the front foot.

Thank God Rod has remained a constant at the club for an eternity! If anyone needs a statue outside the ground it's him.

OK guys, I will try to answer some of the issues raised in this thread but I will not come back on to comment further. Of the 2 questions asked I could have answered Yes to both so it was a weighted poll! I fully agree that our supporters and the town deserve a parade. We are intent on growing our fan base and will be announcing our strategy on that over the next few weeks. DA would not have attended such a parade, as is his choice, he has moved on and will be fully focused on his future. Myself, Graham and the BoD would not have been able to attend a parade at the moment (although, before someone says it, it is not about us, it is about the whole MFC family). I'll give you a snap-shot of the past week; Monday: Wembley, awesome day and high. Tuesday: Got to bed at 3am, back to the Stadium at 7.55am for Radio Lancs, MFC business all day with TV, etc, and the euphoria of the previous day quickly evaporating as we started to deal with the manager's situation. Wednesday: More of the same, many conversations, telephone calls, Zoom meetings, sat down for tea at 11pm. Thursday: Face-to-face meetings with football and non-football staff, then players. Numerous other telephone calls with players. This was a crucial day as we had to furnish the EFL with certain information by close of play, fielding calls and emails regarding the vacant manager's post and reviewing CV's, ate earlier though, 10.45pm! Graham, Mick and other BoD members have had a similar week. Friday; well here we are, I'm taking a little time out to reassure you that we are doing all that is humanly possible to secure a quality manager for MFC, that amonst all the usual planning (and we have LOADS going on) for the new season in L1. Honestly, we would have loved a parade, relax, a few beers with you all but...........our sole focus right now is the correct appointment for this football club, to pick up that baton and move on. We thank DA for his magnificent achievements here but we also have to move on and quickly! I hope you all understand. COYS!

"that amonst all the usual planning (and we have LOADS going on) for the new season in L1"

Fair play for responding when I saw the pic outside the ground on Tuesday morning I did think wow he's done well to get there so early.

I was going to bring the planning thread up in a different topic, my son's friends dad said his son is now really interested in Morecambe mainly because my lad never shuts up about it and so they have watched the playoffs on TV. His lad has even asked if they can get season tickets despite never attending a game previously and he commented that these next couple of weeks will be ideal to pick up new fans while interest is so high, good to know plans are in place.

Goes without saying, who gives a shit about a Parade when we've no Manager and Rod and Graham are doing overtime trying to do get things sorted.

I think they're doing a fantastic job, and we all trust them to make the right appointment.

Listening to the two interviews with Radio Lancs would suggest they knew this was coming but hoped that winning on Monday would mean that they could convince DA to stay.

If as you suggest they knew it could happen I wonder if they had already started to see who was available and that the list of potential managers who have expressed an interest is greater than they had hoped for hence the apparent delay in naming a successor.

Certainly a very difficult decision that they have to make with no guarantee that whoever takes on the mantle will deliver stability in EFL1. We got lucky with DA just hope that we can do the same this time.

I trust our BoDs to get it right....they have done a superb job to date.
