Season Ticket Announcement

(I know there is already a thread for season tickets but that has descended into chaos so many people might not see it!)

Exciting times ahead by the sounds of it! Can’t wait to see the specific details!

As great as this is and not wanting to be negative but how can we afford this along with an increased playing budget.

Either the League 1 payment is a lot bigger than we thought or due to having a small number of staff we have done very well with lockdown due to furlough and the rescue package from the premier league.

I was worried league 1 was a season too soon due to their been no crowds last year which would give us a reduced budget but obviously not.

I think they're probably hoping that it will help bring new fans in to the stadium and those new fans will make up for the cheaper prices (or whatever the surprise they're planning is)

I think that season tickets will be substantially cheaper apart from the 8 around you (horizontally, vertically and diagonally) where, to subsidise the cuts elsewhere, they'll be really really expensive. This because they not only get the match to watch but have the absolute delight of your sage like wisdom on all matters. Might even turn into a cult?

I think it's a good plan.

I think the board are hoping for an average gate round the 4,000 mark so full marks to them for thinking outside the box with ideas to increase the number of season ticket holders.

It would be great to have 2-2500 regular home fans, can only see 4000 if away fans are allowed in, i really hope so not just for us but the town.
We could of course stay at home for the Sunderland game and let them fill it
Enjoy yourself.... It is later than you think

Not looking too good for much easing at the moment. I notice that the whole of Lancashire is beginning to rise now with some rise in hospitalisation as well. Can't see them allowing away fans in yet. On the other hand I feel they must allow some more easing and outdoors is safest.

Really keen to see what the club are going to do to bring in more season ticket sales. It is nice to hear that the club are willing to change and to try new methods. It is the perfect time to try and get new and old fans back with the promotion success, disillusioned PL fans and the feel good factor about the place.

Just looking on the league 1 forum and this is what Donny are doing I wonder if our offer will be similar:-

"Those that purchased last season and didn’t ask for a refund will also get £50 off every year for the next 5 years. We can purchase tickets in full or interest free over 3,6 or 10 months. Finally if a season ticket holder misses any game through Covid, self isolating or work commitments then they will get 50% off the price of the ticket"

Mean while Cheltenham have hiked up their prices from £21 on the day to £28!! and season tickets for new season ticket holders have gone up £111

£28.00 at Cheltenham is disgusting

It’s league 1 football not champions league

Yeah that's great that, could attract some new fans due to a successful season. I know, let's rip them off.

The Cheltenham fan on the forum thinks they are just looking for big paydays when sunderland and the likes come and not interested in attracting new fans.

Wonder how many Cheltenham fans this year got a 33% pay rise? Very cynical move from their board.

Existing season ticket holders from previous seasons to get a 25% reduction on top of early bird offer. :o

Other areas to see a 15% reduction in all areas :o

Special deals to get more to purchase season tickets. :o

We can live in hope.... :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Seriously the cost of EFL1 is usually higher than EFL2. So any deals to make it more affordable would be a terrific bonus.

I think it will be a decent discount for all those that bought a season ticket last year.

I'd like to see iPlayer included (or at least a bolt on) as it would encourage those that can't make every game still buy.

I think this was a limited time agreement, from memory, showing live video stream in the UK was only until 50% of crowds were allowed back in to games, so hopefully, that will not apply.

However, it would be interesting to know if in the future, this may be something the broadcasters would allow? Would live games on the internet bring in more money than TV broadcasting rights? Especially if the take was split [say] 45% to each club, with 10% expenses & broadcaster. I doubt if it would significantly reduce attendances at games.

As it stands, iFollow for most will be commentary only again next season.

When can we actually buy the things? Every season we seem to be the last to put them on sale. On one hand that seems a good thing that we are not totally desperate for the cash whereas some clubs have had them on sale for 3/4 months.

Hopefully demand will be high when they are put on sale as we are on the highest crest of a wave we have ever been on!

Think the club intend to do a big push when the new season fixtures are out. Interest will be at it highest and with new deals being talked about seems a logical time to go for a big push in making a season ticket an even more attractive package.

Wonder if the club are thinking of something like Luton do where by people who didn't ask for a refund last year get special access to new signings via a zoom call. Also they used a % of last years season ticket sales to form a transfer fund to pay for this summers signings.
