Hopefully we get to see this over next couple of days

Will be very interesting to see which players are kept on with new contracts

Could take some time if they have to make some a better offer and then await a reply (particularly if agents are involved)!

Don't forget Stephen has only just moved in and has to start deciding which of the existing players fit his plan...... unlike certain somebody who has been thinking about which of our players he wants for some time. As RR would say 'OUR' players!

All these constant digs at our exceptional previous manager are getting very tiring now.

Firstly, there’s no proof of anything you’re saying - it’ll be Mick Horton deciding on contract lengths, and Derek was hardly going to want to extend player contracts for next season when he knew a new manager would be given the option after the Play-Offs.

Secondly, he drove us to incredible heights last season, so give it a rest and move on.

There are also a lot of assumptions that SR will definitely some of those key players under DA.

He might not fancy them and have his own ideas. Losing certain players that were important last season might not really be the end of the world now we have a different manager with a different style.

Having read a bit into SR, I think he'll be a fan of the likes of Wildig and O'Sullivan. Got a funny feeling he might take a bit of a shine to how McAlinden plays, although whether he thinks he can get the best out of him L1 might remain to be seen.

The more we now realize what DA was up to, the less respect I have for him. He knew he was on his way having decided last December, he also knew which players he would like to take with him hence no contractual discussions at any time.

We thank him for the promotion, but to mastermind the Bratford retained list whilst at the same time deciding who he wished to take with him leaves a very bitter taste in my mouth.

Sorry if that offends some fellow SVers....

I don't think it offends anyone, it's just that there's a fair bit of evidence that you're wrong.

It's been said by DA/Ryan Sparks that DA's contribution to the retained list came in their discussions in the interview he had in December, which was an interview we let him go to. When the season end came and Sparks was set on having DA as his man, he made sure the ideas DA had put forward in that interview were acted upon.

Given our situation with the playoffs, we were never going to start chucking out contract extensions etc. Also, we have options on some of the contracts which DA offered to players, and I presume he had a big say in deciding which players had these extra year options. We have complete control over this. If, for example, Stockton has an option for an extra year, then DA can't just get in there before we activate it. We can either choose to release him or activate the extension, in which case Bradford would have to pay a fee.

Ultimately, DA still guided us to promotion. Whatever plans he may or may not have had (there is no confirmation either way what exactly he was thinking around the playoffs), they clearly did not get in the way of his role at MFC. We won 5/6 of our last league games as well, and the one we lost was only due to a stupid red card that was completely out of DA's control.

DA departing for Bradford like he did isn't 'nice' and does leave a bit of a sour taste, I can definitely agree to that. However, there is a right meal being made of the whole thing!

Well at least we can agree on that if nothing else. Let's hope that your thoughts about Cole and others is correct.... :)

Indeed we don't, in fact he did say that some of the players who performed well in league 2 last year, that's perhaps their level. Whilst I agree Yann is top class, he may have been referring to him as well as others perhaps. Would love to see us take on Brad Lyons, hopefully some news from the club on some transfers in soon!

Gutted to see Yann leave but he is a Derek Adams man so it was always going to happen.

On the positive side we have a new manager with a chance to build a squad from scratch. Normally a manager has to work with players he has inherited and shoe horn them in to his system but it is not the case for Robbo which i think is a good thing.

From a pure cold footballing perspective, probably the right call and not wholly unexpecting it.

However, what an amazing servant to the club. From going in net against Northampton to those beastly headers in the last few minutes against Tranmere and Newport. Never met him but seems like a very lovely bloke, and I'm sure this goes without saying but he will definitely have the best wishes of all Shrimps fans!

Glad he got to cap things off with a promotion, richly deserved after all the not getting paid and relegation battles he's been through.
