Pre season training

Pre season training

Postby redrobo » Tue Jun 22, 2021 11:25 am

A number of clubs commence preseason training next week. Not sure if we are one them but if we are then we should be hearing soon of a number of new signings and loanees to bolster our ranks which at the moment appear to be short in terms of numbers and EFL1 experience.

Assuming that the paper talk is correct about the possible signing on loan of the Rangers winger then that could be an exciting prospect but there is competition from Doncaster and Motherwell for his signature.

No further news about the possible signing of former Bolton central defender Ryan Delaney but his experience would be a welcome boost as would that to have confirmation of a new contract being agreed with Liam Gibson.

Without doubt some interesting days ahead as we build up to our first (and not last) season in EFL1.

Radio Lancashire Sport will be doing a special feature on SR in which all areas of his career to date and his plans for our club will be discussed. Not sure as to when it will be on the radio but probably some time this week. :?:

I would think there will be a deal or two done that will be announced after 1st July as some players will still be under contract

I read a tweet from the Posh owner saying that the transfer market is crazy this month and becomes better for clubs nearer the start of the season due to players and agents panicking. Makes sense if you think about it.

That's my thought too. Some really good signings so far though, so a couple of experienced lads to bring on the younger guys will be good. Excellent news if Cooney returns!

So how did that work out then?
