“Exciting” signing today

“Exciting” signing today

Postby RapidShrimp » Tue Jul 27, 2021 9:56 am

On The Third Tier’s live chat with directors Charlie and James, CA revealed that there’s an “exciting” signing on his way today :!:

Anyone got any ideas?

The only one that I think would make sense when putting two and two together is Adam Phillips.

i cant see it being Adam Philips, he couldn't cut it in L1 with Accrington Stanley so why bother.

seem to recall Adam starting for Stanley then soon found himself on the subs bench, and never really in the headlines, like he was in L2.

Just watched the podcast how impressive are James & Charlie!

I bet you would be hard pressed to find another 2 directors willing to go on something like and talk openly about how their club is run.

Also have you seen how some of the so called big boys in league pay their directors (or the directors pay themselves) crazy amounts, our board could only dream

It really shines through though that they are true fans.

Yes , a complete contrast to how informing the supporters was done under previous regimes , no names mentioned ! We used to be treated like mushrooms , kept in the dark and fed sh*t

....and yet Coley was after him AGAIN as well as Fleetwood ....nice to think that possibly we've beaten both of them... ;)

where does it say Coley and Fleetwood were in for him?

and does a season long loan mean until January?

Adam is back with his tail between his legs

Good to see him back. Most of us would jump ship for a better offer given half a chance. Now he realises the grass isn't always greener and hopefully he'll now be 100% for us again.

err no
The latter want to re-sign him for the next campaign but could face competition from fellow League One side Fleetwood Town, according to The Sun on Sunday (27.06.21).

Why do clubs always put a timeline on loan deals when the parent club can break the deal at any time which is what happened last time with Adam Phillips. Surely a rule should be brought in saying that if a parent club breaks a loan deal compensation should be paid to the borrowing club for the extra work having to be done by clubs having to rearrange a playing squad.

Loans are often seen as the ‘bigger’ club doing a favour for the club that’s got the player, so unless you manage to fit in a clause for “no recall” then you’re always susceptible for a Phillips situation. It’s the risk you take when loaning players - you get a hungry, talented player, but they aren’t likely to become a long-term option for the club in the most part.
