Scenario

We all know we want to keep hold of Sam, but there is a deal to be had for every player. It's now on Faceblog that Charlton are planning to come up with a deal. 'If' some club was to come up with 'the goods'. Who do we think would get the armband ? For me it would be Aaron W., or Toums.

O'Connor he had it in the games when Sam wasn't playing

From the speculation on twitter it seems Wycombe offered around 180-190K and we wanted 200k but Wycombe weren't willing to find the extra.

I think Sam is worth way more than £200K and so late on in the window I would tell any interested parties to go away unless they come back with 350K+.

I've said before for such a low figure I would rather he lead us through our first year in league 1, we would loose more than £200k if we went down! and then in the summer with us safley in league 1 and with plenty of time to find a replacement he can go and get a lot more money somewhere else.

£200K is in my opinion an insult to Sam. :o

Put it another way let's suppose that Sam was at say Wycombe and we wanted him. I bet anything that Wycombe or whoever would be asking a minimum of £350 if not £500K.

Whoever has put the value of £200K (assuming that that is what we are asking) then for me we are undervaluing the player irrespective of whether he's out of contract this summer or not.

Sam is an experienced EFL player and is worth a lot more than £200K..... :( :( :(

If he is 'only' worth £200k we'd be better off offering Sam £2,000 a week more, for a two-year contract extension. Still cost us about £200k but we keep him for two years.

So how did that work out then?

We all know a player with the quality Sam has and his age is worth is more than 200k but Sam's registration isn't. He only has 12months on his contract and can discuss terms from Jan 1st and leave for nowt on 1st July. Wycombe and other clubs will put a value on Sam and if that doesn't meet ours, he stays. You can pluck figures out of the sky but clubs and Agents know that Sams value is depreciating with every passing month.

Yep, ot, but psg have just turned down/dithered €220M for Mbappe and Madrid will get him for free in January.
Similar figures, just in millions not thousands

He possibly had a clause in his contract. 200k release
The fact is none of us know.
But fair play to him. He’s been quality for the club
There a championship club in all but name. Good luck to him if it happens

Exactly my thinking. There always seems to be as on clauses with such small agreements.
