Peter Day, Silenced v Accrington???

Peter Day, Silenced v Accrington???

Postby Keith » Sun Sep 05, 2021 9:27 am

Anyone who knows Peter, knows he is rather loud at Morecambe games. His abuse of referees & linesmen, when he believes they were wrong, is second to none!

So remaining silent at football is a huge challenge. Climbing Kilimanjaro would be an easier task.
Remaining silent against Accrington 'Who Are They?' Stanley, will test him to the limits.

And on his birthday too...

Seriously, Peter is raising money for Alzheimers Research, by remaining silent, on his birthday, at the Morecambe v Accrington match. This is a fantastic cause, so even if you don't know Peter, if you can afford to donate a few quid, please do.

Don't worry, I'll be at the game, doing my best to make up for him, and probably winding him up a little too!

Done!

He can have the money but that’s impossible. He might as well claim he’s going to do a sponsored walk across the Atlantic.

Someone had to setup a camera on him the entire game, then afterwards bring in the actual footage from the game. It will be amazing to watch.

It has been suggested that some people might know Peter by sight but not by name, so I should put a photo of him in the thread, as it may encourage sponsors for this very well worthwhile cause. He said I could use any of his Facebook photos so, ever willing to do as I am told, here is a photo of Peter.

Apparently, that wasn't very helpful! Sorry Peter. I'll try again...

Now you know who Peter is, please do give generously. As Michael said, this will be incredibly difficult for Peter to achieve!

Okay, here he is. Even if you don't know him by sight, you'll have seen him around the club for many, many years!

I think the referee was more than aware what Peter thought about his performance as he left the field.

Maybe Peter could be used in place of the pre match siren.....the decibels wouldn't be that much different...

I remember my Dad telling me a story about Peter being in the home end at Main Rd for a Manchester Derby. Peter celebrated when UTD scored and had to be removed by the Police before the Citeh fans got to him. My Dad was able to keep quiet. I don't hold much hope for him this weekend!

I'll be sat with him, keeping an eye [or ear] focussed on him!

£957 as of 1:30pm Friday. It would be great to hit £1,000 for a really worthwhile cause.

It was a tough game to sit silently through, but he managed it. Although there was some furious scribbling!

"Well done reds"?
Well done Peter!

£1,627 raised for Alzheimer's Research.

Peter doesn't post on here, but asked me to pass on his thanks to everyone who made donations.
THANK YOU!

The original target was £500 so a really good response!
