Morecambe 3 [Stockton x2 McLoughlin] Wimbledon 4 LIVE Thread

Postby Dave Salmon » Sat Sep 11, 2021 1:04 pm

The only place you can hear full commentary is on 103.5/107.5FM across North Lancs or via iFollow - where I've unleashed the biggest hammer on the line and plenty of sticky tape is holding it in place, so fingers crossed eh!

Jonah is doing sprint laps of the pitch and ball work. Shayon Harrison is wearing an air boot.

Team:

Andresson
O'Connor (c) Delaney Gibson
Cooney Leigh
McLaughlin Diagouraga Wildig
Stockton Gnahoua

3-5-2??

Subs: Letheren, Jones, McDonald, McPake, McCalmont, Wootton, Price

No Phillips. Duffus is injured.

On air from 2:45pm with Matt Smith and his posh new goalcam!

Wimbledon playing high tempo, high pressure with some good football. Deservedly in front, and we're struggling to match them at the moment. Gnahoua had a good chance, well saved, but otherwise, we've not threatened yet. Certainly more play in our penalty area than theirs.

Need to improve.

Coming back into it but not creating any chances really. Struggling when they put it into the channels or run from wide positions. Goal was a bit of an oddity.

Tooms foul was a foul, easier to see from the other side. He just clipped their lad's ankle.
Gibbo potential foul, only saw it once, but I thought Gibbo ran out of space and slipped as he tried to turn, but not sure.

I think the reason we're not at it yet is simply because Wimbledon aren't giving us a moment to breathe and no space at all, so we're rushing too much. When we do get space we need to make the most of it. Gnahoua is the only one making space at the moment.

It looked to me like Andresson spilled the free kick.

O Connor is not a captain and in my opinion shouldn’t be on the pitch , very poor

I think Wimbledon pressing so quickly, it is forcing Cooney & Leigh back. Cooney has barely been out of our half and Leigh only had a couple of runs forward. If we're sticking with this formation, we need to be able to get them out of defence and start getting attacks going.
