New broom, so far…

New broom, so far…

How great is it that we haven’t dropped below 3700 with attendances so far?
How good is the atmosphere at home games with even the main stand getting involved in the chanting?
19 new signings and we still look like a decent team most games.
It’s been a hell of a start and a great platform to build on for the rest of the season. Given the injuries to every forward we have signed, the performances have been pretty good and we look like scoring in all games. Tactically, Robbo and Diarmuid have shown that they can be flexible and adventurous. Going with 2 up front when down to ten against Accy took some bottle but Ayunga came on and did a job.
Now we have the first days of Autumn arriving, the pitch looks good, just hope it holds up over the winter as we do now like to play it on the ground more.
The team and support are as one currently and long may that continue.
The communication from the club is better than it has ever been, and work continues behind the scenes on all fronts to improve, as well as listening to supporters with what’s wanted/needed.
The match day experience will get better still for West stand (bartercard) customers when the cover goes up, as the improvements with food and drink seem to have made a positive difference.
Won, lose, or draw, we are having a go, and it’s refreshing and exciting to watch. 3rd top scorers in the division with 3rd most conceded would explain a lot, but it’s certainly value for money.
There is a buzz about from the sporting people of the town right now, and people who occasionally used to come are hopefully getting hooked.

We know we aren’t going to win every game, but we know the team will give 100%, and that’s all we can ask.
Worries on the horizon? We can’t keep below the radar forever with Cole scoring for fun, and Adam catching the eye when everyone knows he is on loan. We are gaining a reputation as a decent development club, gaining plaudits for helping Carlos and Sam move to higher leagues or bigger clubs.
So if this form continues, bigger fish will come calling for our stars in January, that’s is certain. Doing it in League 2 helps you get attention, continuing and developing in League 1 gets Championship and above interested, so as the vultures circle, keep thinking positive.
If we do lose players, Robbo will have ideas about loans and other lads who can step up, that’s for certain.

League 1 appears to have teams who only know how to attack, and can’t defend, and so we currently fit in nicely. Imagine if we could tighten up slightly!!
I have enjoyed every game on its individual merits, even Donny, keep enjoying it, keep turning up, keep cheering and singing, and most of all keep positive with the team. We have made a great start, let’s keep it up.
Up the Shrimps!

Even down here in South Devon I can feel the buzz :D

I hope to be at the Plymouth and Oxford away games and although they are probably tough games I can't wait to actually join in the excitement!

It reminds me of the Jim Harvey days in the conference, entertaining football and you always knew we would concede a few and couldn't hold on to a lead. We have even been playing wingers on their wrong sides another classic Harvey tactic which he used with Mark Shirley

All the teams we have played so far apart from Doncaster have played nice football and made every game entertaining where as in League 2 every team seemed as poor as the next one, I can't think of many league 2 teams coming to play us and saying afterwards wow they were a good side. In that league it was all about who is better at the dark arts.

I also think there is a step up in the class of Manager at this level every manager you seem to have heard of and you know they have a good track record where as league 2 you get a lot of merry go round managers on their way down.
