First 19 matches

First 19 matches

It’s certainly been entertaining seeing 67 goals in the 19 matches but are we too forward thinking leaving the defence with not enough help

Played 19

Won 5

Drawn 4

Lost 10

For 31

Against 36

Please discuss … personally still don’t think we are far away but others may disagree

Think we are maybe little naive after going up a league

Just hope that we can get to the New Year when the latest transfer window opens and we do something about getting a defensive midfield destroyer in the team. There is no doubt that Songo hasn't been replaced and maybe SR concentrated too much on attacking players at the exclusion of a Songo type of player.

If we finish 4th bottom at the end of the season then I'll take that and hope that come the close season we can do something about our obvious problems BUT with so many new players on 2 year contracts will that hold us back bringing in much needed defensive expertise.... :?: :?: :?:

It feels like Jim Harvey's early days of 'you score two, we' ll score three', and I don't think we're too far off. I didn't feel like I was watching a relegation bound side, and I'm confident that Tuesday will go well. 3-1 flattered Oxford.

So how did that work out then?

the times speaking to away fans in L2 and them saying your Goalkeeper was immense!

Barry Roche for the best part of his career was above average in L2.

but! now we have two Goalkeepers who are nowhere near good enough for L1.

At the end of September we were buzzing about results and our attacking style of play. I pointed out then that few of out games had been against the top teams and that there would be some much harder teams coming up. A month later and some are begging to worry about the relegation zone. We've been playing against stronger opposition and have still got one or two difficult games coming up but I expect us to pick up some points in November to keep us clear of the relegation zone by the end of November.

In the first 15 league matches last season we conceded 25 goals and got promoted.
In the first 15 league matches this season we have conceded 28 goals. We have the same amount of clean sheets in this period too (3).
Last season it took time for us to be organised in defence, and this season looks similar. As soon as we cut out individual mistakes and are more organised away from home, we'll be pushing top half.

November is our biggest month of the season so far - 3 home league games plus Fleetwood away.
