To determine numbers for catering a small cover charge of £1 could be made payable in advance and if numbers passed a certain level then transfer the event to upstairs.

I've a feeling that there will be considerable take up by fans and therefore numbers will be limited.

Pie AND a pint, which covers the entrance fee, so no advantage to going elsewhere, but as you say, numbers can be controlled. Have a band on in the evening. Obviously, a bit of a gamble, if we lose most people will sulk off at the final whistle, but is we win, we can keep punters there all afternoon. The TV's would be giving updates of other games around the country. We could keep the bar busy for a good few hours.
