ITV and BBC I despair.

ITV and BBC I despair.

So to this evenings local news, I tuned in expecting to see highlights on both channels of a Lancashire derby featuring what must rank as one of the goals of the decade. After all, the local football coverage is usually a standing dish on Monday evenings local news, even if we usually have to give deference to the Boltons and Wigans of this world. Not this week I thought, Coles screamer must take centre stage!

So what did we get? Squat diddly on local weekend football but in depth coverage of Manchesters' latest inept manager being sacked including interviews with many punters in the street who from their comments haven't seen a live football match in years. Oh and to carry on the Man U theme a review of a forthcoming film about the career of ex Man U player Bryan Robson.

I really do despair.

Surprised?

Actually, I am a little bit. BBC coverage is always crap, but Granada Reports generally give us a bit of a mention.
“Britain faces a simple and inescapable choice - stability and strong Government with me, or chaos with Ed Miliband: ".

David Cameron. May 4th 2015.
So how did that work out then?
