Spot on. It should be for customers only, not friends and family or even staff. I would be upset if I saw anyone there on the terrace who did not fit the Season ticket holder criteria.

I fully expect the full 400 to go to current season ticket holders who had a season ticket they couldn't use last season and it is the right thing.

I am sure the powers that be are fully aware of the sensitivity here.

Bob on! This is one for the purists and all tickets should go to those who have supported the club through thick and thin over the years. Not families or friends, but died in the wool supporters. Like you say I hope the club look after them and I'm sure they will all be looked after as far as possible. Hopefully a win and a draw in round 3 where far more can get to the game!

Buxton have released 400 tickets for general sale and are still hoping for an increase in capacity.

I wonder if Buxton expect to sell out the home end, could potentially get a few more if they don't sell

I think they do expect to sell out TBH - you've got to attend the game this evening to buy a ticket, so they aren't really general sale! If you do attend tonight, but don't get a ticket - you will be given a voucher that gives you priority for a ticket if Buxton are able to attain an increase to their ground capacity.... which might be difficult unless they are going to make improvements - otherwise why would it have been limited to begin with?

Even if they don't sell out, I doubt it will be as simple as sending more tickets to us to sell..... a lot will depend on the configuration of the ground and limitations on how it can be segregated safely between home and away fans - separate turnstiles etc.

If we are given 'The Far End', this is basically a completely open end with no actual terracing - i.e. if you are vertically challenged get to the front as you won't be able to see anything and will more than likely be covered in snow.

Spoke to a club official last night and they have already sold more than our allocation of 400 so as expected it will be down to a ballot.

Also it sounds as though the end we have been allocated has no banking or steps so view of the game will be difficult unless you are at or near the front or over 7' tall which is unlikely.

For me it's viewing the game at the Mazuma on a large screen in the company of other fans although that will also depend I suspect on availability details of which should be made available by the end of this week.

I just hope they know which people in the first application process also had a 2020/21 ticket, so those that qualify don't have to apply again

Buxton sold their remaining 'general sale' tickets last night - you had to attend the game to purchase them, as they sold them inside the ground. The Bucks had a home attendance of 710 for a 1-1 draw vs. Nantwich Town.

If you look back at the crowds they were getting before their FA Cup run, a Tuesday night fixture in October attracted 317.... and you can see a similar trend to their Saturday games.... crowds have effectively doubled!

I think "2020/21 + Current" season ticket holders that apply will all get one - but a ballot will take place for applicants that only have a "Current" season ticket. Say 600 apply in total (I think this is a reasonable guess - many won't want to go because its on TV etc - plus if they couldn't be bothered going to Wembley, its hard to imagine them being interested in Buxton), and its an even mix in both categories - then assuming all 400 tickets go to paying fans (and they absolutely should do!), you'll have a 1 in 3 chance of getting a ticket if you are in the ballot.

There are no excuses for getting stuff like this wrong now! The club have appointed a full-time member of staff to manage the ticket office, and a general manager to oversee this.

I will be thoroughly pissed off if I'm not in the correct ballot and miss out on a ticket as a result of this. I actually emailed the club to make it abundantly clear that although I have 3 season tickets in the application, 2 of them are for the current season - but one qualifies for the first category (I also told them that they spelt Morecambe incorrectly in the subject line of the second email confirming details). Obviously I didn't get a response.

Not sure how the ballot will work for families - imagine your other half getting a ticket in the ballot, but you miss out! Or your kid gets one - seems unlikely that they'd be able to attend unaccompanied.

That is the whole point isnt it? They do know who had tickets for both seasons.

The way I read it, those are the people who will have first priority. Any left over will go to season ticket holders who have one for this season, but didn't have one for last season.

A nice reward for those that spent money on tickets that they couldn't use last season.

I have visions of the club doing a tombola type draw (that old wooden red one where the tickets get stuck to the outer casing ;) ). If you've tried using the online club shop recently then you will know why! Buxton have a better online shop website than we do atm. Appreciate a new one is coming soon, anytime before Christmas would be nice.

I will stop moaning now, honest!

Actually quite nice to hear that this game has had a bit of an influence on increasing their attendance figures. If they put in a good enough showing then maybe they'll sustain them a bit going forward.

Yes - they're also doing well in the league which helps, despite no win in the last 2 (lost to the Dolly Blues).

The FA Cup is derided by the TV fans of the big boys, forgotten about and unloved in their quest to become 'successful' by finishing 4th in the league and out banter opposing TV fans who have deferred an undying loyalty to a place they have never been nor have any connection to. For your bread and butter footy fans, its competition that represents a unique opportunity that has the ability for participating clubs to change their fortunes for a generation or more.... a great leveller - and I love that!

We're a great example; In 1991/92 an FA Cup run that culminated in a narrow, disputed loss to Hull City really proved to be a catalyst for the club to start its steady but steep progression. It was a turning point in our history IMO. Just to host that game, Morecambe had to significantly upgrade ground facilities - building things like turnstiles! I'm sure many can trace their first ever Morecambe game back to that tie, and many more to the runs in the early 2000's vs Ipswich.

Another good example - Lincoln City! They were rotting away in the conference not long back, attracting crowds of barely 2k. Fast forward to that memorable run where they faced Arsenal in the 2017 QF and now they pack 9k into Sincil Bank - more than they actually got when they got when they were in the league previously... that run gave them a new generation of fans, and the finances pushed them through the leagues.

You're a lucky one, "ticketsmorecambe" didn't reply to me.

Well it does say season ticket holders, so probably not as that was at the end of the 2019/20 season with just 4 home games to play

Looks like the club have been reading the forum. Will be putting the game on in the Local Choice Suite, £5 entry with a free drink included. Can also pre-order a pie, what a world.

Good to see the club being pro active and ensuring those unable to go to the game have this as an option..... :D :D :D

, explaining whether a ballot will be taking place. In the event of a ballot, you will be made aware of the results by Friday evening, explaining whether you have been successful or unsuccessful.

They must have increased our allocation from the 400. Maybe they have struggled to sell out to Buxton fans.
