might have started to lose the dressing room with the chopping and changing, some players looked at Robbo and some answered him back when being given instructions as if as much so say what are you on?

Results and performances for last couple of months have been awful generally so last night not a result of John Mc leaving. We have beaten Buxton , Newport and a very poor Fleetwood team since beating Lincoln City.

Was glad to hear Robbo spell out the difference between 'playing with fear' and 'not trying' even though the two attiitudes look similar (and have similar poor outcomes). I don't think he's out of his depth, everything he said made sense and if some players are finding it all too much, it's a shame but maybe this isn't the right place for them to be.

I agree shrimp girl that in his interviews the manager makes good sense. My problem is he seems unable to have any impact on the pitch. I don’t think for one minute we would be struggling as much if DA was still at the club. He seemed to be able to organise the players and bring the best out of them.

I agree DA took some very average players amd moulded them into a system that worked. Everyone knew their job and if a player was out through injury etc the person coming in just slotted in.

But he achieved that [superbly] in his second season. In his first season, JB left with us second from bottom after 15 games, with 0.66 points per game. The season ended with us third from bottom, 0.86 points per game.

DA did an amazing job. But not in his first six months with us.

I know it is a new year and all that but come on Keith, Derek didn't do an amazing job in keeping us up? We were awful, we couldn't buy a win and we were certainly going down with a very poor squad. I remember you saying that nobody would want the job with such a limited funds available. Derek stopped the rot despite having a very limited budget due to it all being spunked in the summer but still managed to bring in the likes of Toums, Phillips and Cooney. Derek performed 2 miracles, keeping us up and then getting us up.

I agree also - the work DA did in his first season must not be forgotten or under sold. He did an incredible job keeping us in the division, if the season hadn't been curtailed, I think it would have been quite comfortable.

I also liked DA's touchline calmness, over SR's animated pointing !

Baffles me how a few fans still don't give Derek the legendary status he deserves. He achieved the impossible after saving us from the oblivion. Robbo had only been here a month or two and celebrity fans were calling him a "step up" from Derek.

I agree that Derek did a very good initial job in keeping us up. People are (understandably) unhappy about the latest performance against Crewe, but that's got nothing on that Stevenage game which ended up being Jim's last. The whole team just looked utterly broken, and it was only October I think!

I'm also perfectly comfortable with Derek having legendary status after getting us promoted to League One. It's an amazing achievement.

Regarding him and Robbo and if we've had an upgrade etc, they're two very different managers who have come into entirely different situations at the club. One thing I think we have upgraded in with Robbo is the overall structure of the club. There are clearer links with the academy and we have a head of recruitment in place. He's clearly invested in bringing the wider football operations of the club to a higher standard to meet the goal of being a sustainable club at the level.

Derek's downfall will always be his prickly character - a lot of Plymouth fans really don't like him still, and you can understand why if you have a look at some of the stuff he came out with towards the end of his time there when they were in a relegation fight. You could argue that Derek left at a good time when on a high, before things could get to a point where they might be prickly! We'll never really know though.

I think they follow on quite nicely from each other as managers. Derek really drove the attitude change and now Robbo has come and attempted to do a bit more club building.

We really need to forget the Crewe game the other night and focus on another massive game tomorrow against Doncaster Rovers

Anyone who thinks the Crewe game was one of the worst they have seen from Morecambe Fc play they have very short memories

Crewe (a) lost 0-6

Crewe (a) lost 0-5

Gravesend (a) lost 0-6

Leek Town (a) lost 0-7

Lets move forward to Spurs next week with a huge 3 points tomorrow

UP THE SHRIMPS (whatever the result)

I wasn't having a go at Robbo and I agree that they are two very different people who were brought in to do two different jobs. Derek is very much here and now although he seems to making a power grab at Bratfud and has changed the system there. Robbo is here to build a club and he is very likeable. I see him wandering up and down the prom and by moving here he has shown he sees a long term future here. Robbo is lucky to have James and Charlie at the club and he is reaping the financial benefits brought by Derek's successful tenure at the club. The Head of Recruitment role and the improvement in infrastructure happened because of what Derek achieved.

My point was, Derek didn't have two players in every position, rotating through, during his first six months. "His" squad was in his second season. The first season was a battle.

From DA being appointed on 7th November until the January window opened after New Years Day, we won one, drew two, lost five. That was a lower points per game return than when JB was manager. DA then signed Tooms & Songo'o during that January window (can't remember who else came in the January?). After the new signings joined, we won three, drew four, lost four.

The point I was making is, Derek didn't come in and suddenly make a failing squad start playing well, it took until the January when he could bring in some better players. I wasn't making an 'anti-Derek' point, I was saying Stephen Robinson needs more time.

Derek worked miracles to get us promoted the following season. That's when his discipline, hard work & organisation came to the fore.

You said that Derek didn't do an amazing job in his first six months but he did do an amazing job by keeping us up.

Yann didn't sign until the September.

Won 4
Drew 6
Lost 9

Funny how you think that's "amazing" yet year-on-year, when Jim Bentley kept us up, while Joseph Cala was sleeping on the boardroom floor and a Brazilian with no money bought the club and his best player was sold in order to pay staff wages, it wasn't special at all?

Derek Adams turned the club around and did an amazing job in the following season, but 18 points from 19 games wasn't that great.
