I don't think, and am not even slightly 'hinting' that we need a change in manager. He assembled a new squad almost from scratch, in a matter of a few weeks. Then, was stuck with that squad.
Some people keep mentioning Robbo's reputation for developing players, but not doing it here? Two things, firstly Greg Leigh & Cole Stockton are definitely better players now. Possibly add Liam Gibson to that too.
But more importantly, some players have possibly, simply reached their maximum potential? Stephen Robinson could coach me until the end of time, and I'd never become a League One standard footballer! That's why January is so important. These signings aren't going to be 'rushed', he's had months to scout and decide who he wants. If we head in to the transfer window with players ready to sign on day one, then I'll feel we're ready to kick on. If we end the window with the same squad, possibly minus Cole, then we need to plan for League Two, because the current squad either don't want it enough, or aren't good enough to stay up.
Even if we go back down, that doesn't mean SR isn't the man to lead us on, and back up. We'd need to look at the bigger picture, especially how the club changes the youth development etc. We also need to consider how much money he's given to spend in January. We've had about a million quid in transfer money come in to the club, I hope he's given a decent amount to spend.
