Redrobo, I quoted the euro figure because that's what I read from a Scots reporter on Faceblog.

Does anybody know if there is a minimum figure that has to be paid to a club in compensation in this sort of situation ? Personally I think it should be the new clubs annual wage offer x contract length.

In the majority of cases the manager and club will negotiate a “release clause” when he signs his first contract, which quite often is a two way clause, termination of employment(sacked) or joins another club. If their isn’t a clause it’s down to the negotiating skill and poker playing skill of the negotiators.it is quite strange that in quite a number regulated sports, managers/coaches /physios don’t have to lodge their contracts with any regulatory body. If a football manager/assistant / coach have an issue the Football Managers Association will represent them, if they are members, and the very vast majority are members

How much compensation do we get for Diarmuid O'Carroll. Didn't he have a 3 year contract too?

How can a fan owned, mid table Scottish club afford to be paying that with gates around 5k?

I am fairly sure they wouldn’t have been able to afford that sum of money if they had been taken over by Diego Lemos and his “friends” as they made an attempt to take the Buddies over prior to turning their attention to Morecambe

St Mirren got £250k compensation for their manager which is why they can afford to pay us £100k and still have plenty left

If the sums banded about are true, Robinson will earn a basic wage upwards of 800k from his contract. That is a massive investment in a Manager with a decent record in a pub league but 2 poor stints in the FL.
