I don't think it is '
throwing in the towel', quite the opposite. Any new manager has to come in and play the rest of the season with the players we already have. He needs to get to know them and their strengths & weaknesses, and then either adapt his own preferences to meet the players or mould players in to his style. Barry made two changes last night that I think worked well, because he already knew the players he was working with. It was clear that the players wanted to play yesterday. The set-up & formation was close enough to what we've been doing all season. I think everyone agrees, we're very close to it all 'clicking'.
While a new manager, if given a contract beyond the end of this season, while obviously wanting to do everything to keep us up, wouldn't be human if they didn't start to consider next season in League Two. Any relegation this season, isn't really on
their CV given the time they'd have left.
We all want the same thing, League One survival. I'm not sure it is necessarily improved by someone new coming in just yet. As I said elsewhere, depending upon what went on behind the scenes, I'd be happy to see John McMahon return as Baz's number two until the end of the season, then take it from there.
However, Quinny said on Radio Lancs last night, he doesn't think Barry wants the job full time anyway, so the point is probably moot.
Whatever the board decide, and whoever comes in, I'm 100% in support of that decision.
