Cancel the World Cup in Qatar on Human Rights grounds, and I'll think about it again.
to my understanding it was around the time the cold war as we knew it back then was coming to an end and disputed ex Soviet states were given the chance by Russia for independence aslong as they surrendered their nuclear arsenal and lived in peace, but since have been wanting to join the EU and Nato, thats not living in peace like originally agreed with the Ukraine.Phil Anderer wrote:Andy D wrote:hmmm maybe we should keep politics out if Football.

Andy, just to clear up an apparent misunderstanding in your post, Ukraine gave up their nuclear weapons in 1994 in an agreement whereby NATO promised to come to their defence if they were ever threatened with invasion.
Also, in terms of the Russian people, there are mass protests throughout Russia against Putin's actions, so they would not appear to be in favour on this war.
