Shame we couldn't hold on but that still has to be looked at as a good point. AFC Wimbledon drawing means not lost any ground wasn't looking good when they were 2 up. Oh and St Mirren got done 2-0 at home so happy days

Really enjoyed our performance against a very technical and skilled side. Battled like mad in the first half to go in at HT equal but quality subs that scared them to death with off the ball running. Aaron must be chuffed to bits to have DA back after being misused by Robinson and what a goal. Cole looks well short of something. Shane and Fane were unreal in the middle. Fantastic engines and some unreal tackles. I fear for Jonah, that amount of effort won't cut it with Derek.

After the hassle with Bolton, how good were their fans? Plenty of noise and no bother.

I only watched the game at home as working tonight but not 1 fan should be disappointed with that result today

Ipswich squad as good as anyone in this league (just look at their bench)

They were certainly the better team and fully deserved their point

The relegation scrap is going to go down to the last few weeks which can only be good

Good point against a side that had only conceded one goal in seven games.

Great defensive performance with several at the back excellent and Trevor absolutely outstanding.

Right decision to take off Jonah as we were totally exposed on that flank. Looked a lot better second half because we pushed up and took the game to them.

Main reason for the post though was that while he produced the cross for the goal Adam Phillips was shockingly awful. A cross that went straight out; a terrible through ball for Cole; over hit cross; a shocking pass in midfield that led to the goal; but worst of all two minutes of injury time and loses ball up front and then jogs back and miles away from the play.

If his contribution, or anyone else, is that poor we’re never going to stay up. Needs a kick up the arse.

Adams is certainly the manager who will give an ass kick to Phillips

Don`t know if it will make much difference though

Always annoying not to get to the 90th minute without winning but would have taken a point at half time. DA showed a far greater tactical awareness than Judas by making those telling changes at half time. Fitting that Aaron got the goal and must be delighted that DA is back.

An encouraging returning debut performance that under Judas would have seen us get nothing.

Can't help but have a wee bit of a laugh at Judas's first game as St Mirrans manger. 0-2 v Hearts.

Agree with Phillips stuff entirely. He seemed to be blowing after only being on for 10minutes, we were trying to spur him on on the BW but he just jogged through the 2nd half. I don't think he likes being shoved out wide and if it wasn't for Shane,.we would have been done down our right side every time. He does have that sprinkle of star dust that nobody else has though.

At this stage of the season we can’t carry anyone and we’re carrying him. Bar Bolton I can’t think of a game this season where there has been a quality performance or stardust.

For me the reason we’re where we are is a handful players either not got that extra bit of quality or the energy and dynamism or both.

He just seems to over hit everything and has all season I think when we go back to Derek's preferred formation Wilding will get the nod ahead of Adam.

I think what has cost us was thkse games around Nov time when Delaney, Wooton amd the keepers were awful.

It was a very strange day, however I enjoyed so many positives

1. Derek Adams received the plaudits for getting us into Div 1, like him or not he did the business

2. We got a point against a very accomplished team. Ipswich passed the ball around well and were well
organised ... until we scored and they were rattled, shame we couldn't grab another goal then

3. Our players really did give their all, put their bodies on the line and worked their bits off. Carson in particular and Fane were excellent

4. Derek made 2 good subs at half time. Ayunga was being himself and not really producing much, Cooney was left stranded and being swamped time and again

5. The subs created and scored the goal. My oh my how we need Wildig, he ghosts into the area and grabs those vital goals. Phillips may have been slack with is passing but let's be honest, many of his misplaced passes could have been killer balls, today they weren't. I would start both Wildig and Phillips every game and encourage players to expect the crosses to be swung in quickly

6. The fans. I loved the atmosphere today. Our guys behind the goal were awesome once more, the Red Army chant got going better than I can ever remember, most around me high up in the stand were giving it some wellie.

7 Ipswich fans. They sang without being abusive, they encouraged their team and they were (as far as I could tell outside the ground) civilised and happy. I watched several cars turn up with Ipswich fans, many were family groups with young children and it was exactly what supporting your team should be

8. Pride. Morecambe FC make me feel good. My first games were around 54 years ago when we were youngsters in the scratting shed days. It was good then and has gradually got better along with the club becoming professional all round and now an established football league club. It sill feels good to be a Morecambe supporter ... and let me tell you this

9. If we get relegated I will be disappointed, yet I will never believe that we didn't give it our best shot. The memories will burn deep and I will (hopefully) be there again next season to enjoy the ecstasy and agony of being a Morecambe fan

10. Ask any Morecambe fan ... we will not be relegated

It still feels furkin brilliant when my team score a goal! I got that rush today when Wildig nodded the ball home and am so grateful that the club give me moments when I can jump for joy like I did when I was a lad

Totally agree with you Caged Lion (only 38 years for me though)

If and its only an if we get relegated i will still be there next season cheering the lads / manager / board on to who knows could be another promotion (if we went down)

League 1 as been a fantastic journey so far and with still 12 massive games to go who knows what will happen - lots of twists and turns still to go !!!

Todays results in league 1 just show what a crazy league it really is and to be playing against Sheff Wed, Sunderland, Portsmouth and others just makes me more proud of my club even more

KEEP THE FAITH - Still only 2 points from safety after 34 games (most fans would have taken that before the start of the season)

Yesterday wasn't a quality performance from Phillips, but the cross was a 'stardust moment'. He did really well to win the individual battle, then supplied a sublime, dinking cross, serving the ball on a plate for Wildig. Obviously, a few minutes later, in a similar position, his cross hit the corner flag. Double stardust would have been nice!

I don't think anybody else in the squad could have crossed the ball like Adam did for the goal. He is technically our best player by a million miles but you can totally understand why he is not playing higher than L1. He will track back once and then jog around for 20mins. For every assist there are 4 or 5 horrible crosses or passes.

I think he should be given a run and allowed to get some form together because he is our only genuine match winner but others will have to pick the slack up.

The less said about the first half, the better! Can totally see why Derek went with that 3-5-2 - we were so good against Rotherham and he'd only had a couple of days with the players, so continuity made sense. And fair play to him acknowledging how badly it was going with a clever change at HT to give us some more impetus.

Worked well for 15 mins or so and got us the goal, but you can only change so much with in-game subs and we were a bit exposed in wide areas, which meant Ipswich could really turn the pressure on when they managed to swing momentum back towards them.

There were some really encouraging signs at points in the second half though. The interplay between Wildig and Phillips was pretty mesmerising at times, and I think we need to try and play on that. But also, we do need to think of a shape that can fit them both in while still being balanced and secure. I'd quite like to see this next game:

Carson
AOC-Bennett-Bedeau
McLoughlin-Fane-Toums-Leigh
Phillips-Stockton-Wildig

Good back three, nice solid central midfield duo of Fane and Toums, width from McLoughlin and Leigh which also covers for Phillips and Wildig being a bit more narrow as two kind of No10s/inside forwards/attacking mids/whatever you want to call them.

Good post Caged Lion. I too am an old git who saw his first game in the final against Burnley in 68 aged 8 and have been about ever since.

Agree with the majority of your posts apart from the relegation one. Our backs are well and truly against the wall with some really difficult games to come. It will now be a massive effort to stop up. Never say never but it really is squeaky bum time. However if we do go down I feel we can make a really good fist of it next season and maybe even go straight back up. The infrastructure at the club is now better than I ever remember it and will have to be if we go down and the likes of Stockport and Wrexham come up!
