Buddies defending

Well if you want to revisit the Shrimps defending for the majority of this season, just watch the goals that St Mirren conceded at Paradise last night - I think it will all look very familiar. Didn’t take him long to disorganise his defenders at defending crosses.!!

I think Robbo over complicated things and overloaded the players with information, I remember him on the podcast saying when the opposition gets the ball there are always 3 different pressing options. Imagine if you are defending a player is running at you and your trying to go through the 3 options in your head

I think Derek keeps it simple just defend well and get the ball up the pitch to Cole.

That reminds me it's Thursday we should be getting a Derek interview :D He was quite chatty last week and even cracked a joke to Quinny lets see how he is this week.

I think you are right about the over coaching. At times you could almost see the players brains working over time on pitch trying to remember where they should be. He banged on about this Press of his and landing on the ball but we never really saw it on the pitch. He really did try and play Champagne football with footballers unable to do so.

He had the jargon and talk but looking back, not much substance. Give me ugly football anyday of the week!
