Good point vvm and I must admit initially I thought the same but now I'm determined to be there supporting our club. Over the years we've all seen football hooligans fighting with other like minded football hooligans, but what happened at Morecambe was off the scale. To attack a fifteen year old boy at the match with his family and absolute lowest of the low a disabled guy on his mobility scooter and leave him lying in the road way, words fail me. Numerous other incidents on the day make me think the Police/club got it wrong and far greater resources would have been appropriate. Hindsight is a wonderful thing though!
Tonight I think GMP will be out in force. Bolton have had issues at their last few home matches including a semi riot when Sunderland were in town and incredibly, disorder at a night match against Cambridge of all people, who must have brought one man and his dog. By now the Bolton numpties must be firmly on the GMP radar. Bolton's CEO recently made a plea for his clubs fans to behave themselves as the Policing costs for home games were becoming hugely expensive and were impacting on the playing budget!
For anyone attending by coach, mini bus or car tonight we are in car park A which I believe is right behind the away turnstiles. It will surely be well policed so lets not be put off, don't rise to any provocation and let the Police do their jobs if required. Common sense however dictates that it's probably not a good idea to go wandering into Bolton areas wearing our club colours.
Stay safe everyone and don't be put off attending.
