At the start of the season I thought this was a free hit, a once in a life time ride that we had to enjoy. If we went down then so be it, just enjoy living it. I have had some of my best days watching Morecambe this season and I wouldn't change the last 45 games. We have gone from 800 fans to selling the ground out, we have taken over away pubs and been to the best stadium in world football. Don't let it go sour for the last 9 games, lets keep fighting and enjoying this unreal experience. If we go down we go down but be proud of how far we as a club have come.
Totally agree. We go in to the last game of the season playing Sunderland.
Morecambe v Sunderland in a League match.
Who would have thought that would ever happen???
Who knows, we may go in to that game, still having survival to play for. But if by then we're already relegated, then go to the game and enjoy it. It's been an amazing experience and The Mazuma has been rocking on occasions. Morecambe selling out league matches? Beating Blackburn? Leading Spurs for so long that they had to bring the England captain on to turn things around? Playing huge teams, with real history, like Ipswich & Sheffield Wednesday as equals?
And, if we do go down, we receive 'parachute payments', which will help to keep our future secure.
Let's get behind the lads, make a noise and enjoy the rest of the ride. Hopefully we'll sell as many season tickets next season as this, no matter which league we're in.
