Wigan 4 Morecambe 1 [Connolly] LIVE thread

Postby Keith » Sat Mar 19, 2022 2:24 pm

A lovely, glorious, sunny day here.
Off to see Tim Peake talk this evening.

Just got to endure 90 minutes of football in between to ruin the mood!

The optimist in me keeps telling me, ...this is exactly the type of game we raise our game for... and... we've done better against the good teams in League Two... and... ...we're definitely going to show some fight after Tuesday night...

COYS!!!

Subs: Ayunga, Fane, Gibson, Mensah, Obika, Phillips, Smith (G)

Feel sorry for Fane, I think he's played well whenever he's been on the pitch.

Is DA playing a psychological game with those who didn't impress on Tuesday.... :?: :?: :?:

Wouldn't put it past him and if he is....then it's up to the lads to show him how good they can be.

My 100% backing if true..... :)

"Flexible 4-3-3".

I think that's probable, moving to 4-2-3-1.

On that basis, I'd like to see:

______________Stockton_______________
__Gnahoua______Wildig_________Connolly
_______Diagouraga____Fane____________
Leigh_____Bedeau____O'Connor___Cooney
_______________Carson_______________

...but generally, this looks decent.

Less than three minutes and Wigan had a really decent opportunity, with a free header!

Great play from Cooney, with a superb spin, then dribbled from halfway line, in to the penalty area, then Stockton with good play but weak cross.

Interesting game so far!

Cooney gets nudged in the back, as a result, he handballed. Wigan get a free-kick!
Why wasn't the nudge a free kick?Fortunately, they didn't make the most of it, heading straight at Carson.

What minute will Connolly get a yellow? A couple of niggly fouls now.

We need to have Naylor with another Morecambe MotM performance! Didn't he score an own goal, give away a penalty and get sent off, all in the same game? Something like that?

Didn’t look like it crossed the line from behind the goal. The replay in the ground seemed to show the same.

Lost count of the number of goals given away at the end of each half.

Must be a concentration problem as it is ridiculous.

EFL2 here we come.... I'm afraid.... :( :( :(

Will somebody please kill any black cat as luck seems to have deserted us for the entire season.

2-0 or 5-0....scoreline no longer matters.

Let's bring on an extra striker and simply go for it.

Only one team in the bottom ten losing, with three teams winning :(
