A problem that has existed for season after season is that we don't get close enough to the opposition wing men which gives them time to cross the ball into our box time after time after time.

Get into the faces of the wing men and you cut off the supply that has caused us problems for season after season but particularly this one. Call it man to man marking if you like but we do neither this or get even close to them. Watch the highlights and judge for yourself about the amount of room and time the wing men have to pinpoint their crosses into our congested box.

Also can't understand the logic in not keeping at least one player up field at an opposition corner. Having all 10 in the box leaves no chance of an out ball going to one of our players.

The issue is in EFL 1 that most teams set up to play with wingers. In most cases wingers who have, or are capable of playing at an even higher level than they are at now.(These type of players cost serious money, but many League 1 clubs have this money and we simply don't). At most away grounds the surfaces are slick and as wide as possible to suit wingers. At the end of the day our defenders don't have the quality to cope with it and we get exposed most games.

We obviously knew League 1 would be a step up but I don't think many of us appreciated how much of a step up!

Especially this season, with the likes of Sunderland, Wigan, Shef Wednesday, Portsmouth, Bolton, Rotherham, Ipswich, Charlton. This has to be one of the toughest league 1 seasons to date.
