Banks and Carson

Banks and Carson

Having watched the replay of Trevor Carsons save last night and Dave salmon's commentary. It reminded me of Gordon Banks 1970 world cup save from Pele's header. Both fantastic reaction saves. Just curious about fans light hearted opinions of comparison. Older S/V's will probably remember. Younger ones will probably have to look it up.

I was thinking exactly the same. It was impressive enough saving the shot but getting it over the bar was something else

Who was the first Oxford player to congratulate Mr Carson post match was non other than the player who Mr Carson made that incredible save from in the 90th minute... :?: :?: :?:

Respect between fellow professional footballers.

Too little of that about but all credit to the Oxford player.... :)

Two proper pro football teams and players showing respect for the way a great match was played.

I thought this was going to be a comparison between Andy Banks & Trevor Carson, perhaps discussing who the best Morecambe keeper is, or something? 8-)

So how did that work out then?

Was it Andy Banks who was the only keeper Clive Walker failed to score against from the penalty spot?
